  1. Our main competitors these days. COLORADO ROCKIES EAST.
  2. ^ John Henry fanboy I guess?
  3. You see all the ******** that Henry is putting you through and yet you still want to make excuses for him somehow.
  4. Why bother? It's their f***ing job to ask those questions! It's their only purpose in life! Why else do they show up at the ballpark except to ask questions?
  5. Sale hasn't been an ace since 2018. ATL does NOT think he's an ace at all.
  6. Yorke's defense is passable at 2b now. Meidroth barely hit at AA. Valdez is fine as a platoon only DH, but Sox really don't need to waste that roster spot. The talent looks better at AAA than it has in the past few years and it should get better later this season and next year.
  7. What ace?!?!??!?!?!?!?
  8. There's been much less reported about Xander extensions and what happened after he went to FA than the Mookie situation. There's even MORE speculation there than we'd like to admit.
  9. Mookie said he didn't get 300M. Why didn't the people with the original sources refute?
  10. That deal would have gotten the Sox under the CBT! The Sox QO's would have been a lot more valuable!
  11. Sitting in the trainer's room and at home rehabbing.
  12. A negotiation is when both sides go back and forth. Why would Betts negotiate against himself? That makes no damn sense.
  13. Yes, people said Mookie only wanted to test FA. They blamed his dastardly mom! Then they said "well it's COVID's fault for him signing with the Dodgers." Sox were too lazy to have the conversation or just thought no player was worth 300M. Seems like the market thought otherwise.
  14. How would they know without asking?
  15. lol wut?!?!?
  16. @tylermilliken_ According to @mikemayer22, the Red Sox have signed reliever Michael Fulmer. He posted a 4.42 ERA/4.15 FIP in 57 IP last season for the Cubs, but will miss all of 2024 after undergoing UCL revision surgery on his right elbow. Might be the reliever form of the James Paxton deal. @ChrisCotillo Per MLB transactions log, Red Sox have signed Michael Fulmer to a minor league deal. He had UCL revision surgery in March so likely out all of 2024. Bet that’s a 2-year minor league deal. All-Star in 2017.
  17. When I've looked at previous year's rosters and have seen guys like Josh Ockimey, Jeremy Barfield, Marcus Wilson and Bryce Brentz hang around for years without ever really needing to play. All these guys mentioned today don't matter. They are completely fungible.
  18. All of this!
  19. Once Roman is called up to AAA this year, one of these guys is going to get waived.
  20. They need a utility guy in AAA because Fitzy was taken in Rule 5 and if there's an injury to the OF, he'd be the first guy to come up. I think this means they are likely to not sign an OFer and are going to have Rafaela and Abreu on the Opening Day roster. It also gives them additional roster security if they move Duran/Rafaela. The other OFers are Mark Contreras (MiLB deal with MLB experience), Corey Rosier (mid defender, offense wasn't great in AAA) and Eddy Alvarez (journeyman type). Guthrie is a step up from those guys in case of injury to someone on the main roster. He'd be a guy you'd call up to sit on the bench for the most part. Defensive replacement in the late innings or something.
  21. The only way people get around the idea of "Mookie was never going to sign an extension with the Red Sox" but "Mookie signed an extension with the Dodgers" is that they have to build a narrative that either Mookie's mom was truly evil and didn't want Mookie to play in Boston OR Mookie just really fell in love with LA and liked the idea of being in the big media friendly environment OR it was COVID's fault. There's no other way to link those two ideas without creating some sort of song and dance (that can't be proven) to explain it away.
  22. I'd care more!
  23. Guthrie was DFA'd 3 times last year. Good chance he's DFA'd this year! He's definitely towards the bottom of the 40 man. Yu Chang of the OF?
  24. Look, watching baseball games and getting quotes from baseball players after the game is hard work! It's a grind! They can't possibly be everywhere at once!
  25. They need to still kiss the ring or Cotillo will have to start paying for his ice cream.
