  1. @PortlandSeaDogs Matthew Lugo has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week! Lugo hit .438 in five games with 3 doubles, a triple, a home run, and a league-best 10 RBI. And he still hasn't turned 23 yet.
  2. Sometimes I should read ahead before posting.
  3. He was good until the last few innings when he stated he was injured.
  4. They have similar AAA outputs. We don't know whether Kavadas can make the jump. Hard to say unless they give him a chance. It may be one of those seasons.
  5. @SoxNotes The Red Sox are 13-10 (.565), a 91-win pace. Most recent Red Sox teams to go 13-10 or better through 23 games: 2024 2021* 2018* 2016* 2013* 2009* 2008* 2007* *Made Postseason
  6. My favorite non-prospect is Cash.
  7. When I lived in LA, I listened to Vin Scully on the radio all the time and went to a few games. I followed the team and new the prospects that were coming along. I even participated on a Dodgers fan forum, which is how I found out about this place (there were a shared "admiration" of SeaBeachFred). I even ended up buying an LAD hat after moving back to MA. However, at no point was I really rooting for the Dodgers and it really didn't impact my life in any way if they won or lost. The Sox were the team I still paid the most attention too and still felt frustration over after losses. If it wasn't for Vin Scully, I probably would have barely followed the Dodgers at all.
  8. Sure, just not in RF.
  9. NY - 10th in batting fWAR (Sox 23rd), better bb rate, better k rate, wRC+ is 14 points higher, 5th in DRS (Sox 12th), tied for 14th in OAA (Sox are 25th)
  10. A name that has popped out to replace Casas temporarily: Jared Walsh: Walsh for Juan Chacon or similar IDK, he seems to be a LH Dalbec. I don't know how much you're really getting out of him.
  11. Went 1-3 at home against them. Would be nice to get those 3 losses back.
  12. Kavadas through 15 games: 1089 OPS 4 HR 10 BB, 17.8% 17 K, 30.4% 364 BABIP Maybe has a chance to come up as a platoon bat with Dalbec depending on how long Casas is out? He is Rule 5 eligible this offseason. Jordan, Sogard and Yorke are also rule 5 eligible.
  13. Imagine if they had even average defense!
  14. Houck vs Lively https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Guar Only 3 active Sox have more than 2 AB's vs Lively (Devers, Duran and Valdez). Devers is projected to be back for this one.
  15. Refsnyder is not a good defender. To play O'Neilll in LF and Refsnyder in RF is definitely a choice.
  16. He had some injury issues last year. I've been wondering how much that played into it. We saw how good he could be in '22.
  17. The baserunning and fielding has just been bad. I'm not sure 3 months of a new coach can fix the fielding issues though.
  18. 1. Doesn't throw a 4 seamer. 2. 88th percentile in exit velo. 3. 93rd percentile in bb rate. 4. 80th percentile in ground ball rate.
  19. Wikelman becoming a RP now?
  20. I’m happy with ANY sweep. Sox lost 2 of 3 at the A’s last year when they were trying to keep a playoff spot. Beat all the teams. All wins count.
  21. Sox won only 2 more games than them last year. The franchises are in the same spot right now.
  22. Werner is the minority partner. Nobody really listens to him. He’s trotted out at press conferences because Henry hates them.
  23. Winckowski gets the start.
  24. Sox are calling up Heineman due to the Casas injury.
