  1. There were a few quotes right after he was hired and some complaints here and there.
  2. It's why I don't see a reason to put Rafaela back in AAA. He won't learn anything there. He's not going to become a patient hitter in 45 games in AAA. It didn't work at the start of last season. It won't work this season. Just let him do what he does.
  3. Really hate that guy. *looks down at my watch*
  4. Why would various members of the FO and ownership all say wildly different things this offseason? For PR purposes, shouldn't there be a united front? Why would the budget be reduced from last year if it's not even close to hitting the CBT to begin with? If the prospects don't work out, what is the next phase of bridge planning? Were you unhappy with the amount of candidates that backed out of the interview process for the CBO position and what does that say about the perception of this franchise across the league? The outlook of this team is as poor as it has been since pre-1967 with the numerous below .500 seasons. Is the pressure of trying to follow a sustainable model in the manner of the Rays maybe too difficult a task? Would using financial might while developing a farm system be better like the Dodgers? How do you feel about the unnamed FO sources that have spoken out against Crag since he has been hired? Do you think it would be better to have everyone on board and supporting him?
  5. Now is the year to figure out if it's worth keeping Abreu/Rafaela/Duran around for the long term.
  6. There's also always some unanticipated injury. Just because it looks like a roster crunch now, doesn't mean there is really an issue.
  7. Hard to say where they'll be slotted Of guys with over 50 throws, Abreu had the #10 strongest arm in MLB last year. +1 Fielder Runs in 51 attempts. O'Neill was a 0 in about 200 attempts. O'Neill is faster than Abreu though.
  8. Only 22 pitchers threw 70+ games last year. Winckowski - 60 Martin - 55 Bernardino - 55 Jansen - 51 Whitlock pitched in 46 in '21. I'm sure he could throw consistently in the 50's.
  9. @jcmccaffrey Rafael Devers was about as outspoken as he’s ever been saying he was disappointed the team didn’t add more this winter and even at the trade deadline last year
  10. https://twitter.com/redsoxstats/status/1759997554521935888 Raffy gives ownership a ringing endorsement.
  11. Don't blame me, I'm voting for Ted Williams' frozen head again. Slugger is running as his VP.
  12. As a REALIST, let me just say that the Sox will go 162-0 if they win the first game and 0-162 if they lose the first game.
  13. Even a little Adalbertoish!
  14. Are we sure Duran is a 120 wRC+ player going forward? Most projections have him at 98 and below. Until he can replicate it again, I can't say he's likely to outhit Turner. We've seen many one year wonders before.
  15. The '26 option is mutual so it 99% will not be picked up.
  16. Ride O'Neillll hard and put him away wet until he breaks down. Abreu takes over while O'Neillllll is on IL.
  17. Henry Crag Unnamed FO Sources
  18. He should be throwing soon, so probably not.
  19. I agree. I only don't put Whitlock in the rotation ahead of Houck because of his health concerns.
  20. John Henry was asked if he has a couple minutes to talk about the team, said no, then walked to the back fields. So for now, the streak continues.
  21. Hate speech is alive and well on TalkSox.
  22. The only reason they put him in the rotation was because the Sox mentioned stretching various players out. Really, Whitlock and Winckowski just need to be bullpen arms.
  23. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/how-to-say-youre-rebuilding-without-saying-youre-rebuilding-a-guide-for-general-managers/ I didn't realize all the trauma I had when reading through this.
  24. Just as an FYI, Tommy John threw 2,543 innings after his surgery. They don't make 'em like they used to.
  25. Ellis was high, but able to manage it.
