  1. 2024 Sox Amount of times outscored opponents by 8 or more runs: 7 (largest amount 17) Amount of times outscored by opponents by 8 or more runs: 1 (largest amount 8) SKEWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Likely they start the season with a 6 man rotation IMO. Whitlock was mowing down hitters in the Spring. Hard to move that to the pen.
  3. Because the Red Sox have a decent pitching staff, it's less likely that they will be blown out than they will blow out an opponent. Therefore, they will thumb their noses at Pythogoras and still be a .500 team.
  4. Hamilton has a 511 OPS the past week. I think he's starting to cool down as expected. I think his ceiling is lower than Yoshida's.
  5. VS RHP Wong Casas Valdez Rafaela Devers Abreu Duran Refsnyder Yoshida VS LHP Wong Casas Romy Hamilton Devers O'Neilll Rafaela Duran Refsnyder
  6. Hamilton and Valdez are making up for it in the short term.
  7. Next year? Probably. I have higher hopes going forward especially if the OF is solidified and Mayer can come up and fill in one of the MIF holes. I believe they still need a top of the rotation guy. I haven't seen Houck do it for a full season so I'm not a believer yet.
  8. That's what medicore .500 baseball clubs do.
  9. @SoxNotes MLB’s best records since May 19: 1. Orioles 20-10, .667 2. Yankees 19-10, .655 3. Guardians 16-9, .640 4. Mariners 19-11, .633 5. RED SOX 18-11, .621 In that time, the Sox lead MLB in AVG (.273) and OBP (.342) and rank 2nd in runs per game (5.3), OPS (.786), and steals (41).
  10. Might not be fun to watch.
  11. @tylermilliken_ Here is where the Red Sox rank in MLB through 75 games. Batting Average: .254 - 5th OBP: .325 - 5th SLG: .418 - 4th OPS: .743 - 5th Runs Scored: 350 - 9th wRC+: 105 - 12th ERA: 3.45 - 5th Rotation ERA: 3.48 - 6th Bullpen ERA: 3.43 - 7th Strikeouts: 279 - 6th BAA: .233 - 13th Errors: 54 - Worst in MLB Defensive Runs Saved: 14 - 12th OAA: -9 - 24th
  12. He's really a backend arm. Who is he replacing?
  13. They are on the good blip right now. They'll be back at .500 soon enough.
  14. Mays had skills that would transcend time. Ruth did not. Bonds was great before the cream and clear, but was not at the Mays level.
  15. To take all of Yoshida's salary, you're trading a top level prospect IMO.
  16. Yes, the one chain rule was noted in Spring Training.
  17. Bello since coming back from the IL: 7 GS 36.1 IP 6.44 ERA 5.22 FIP 4.21 BB/9 846 OPS 1 QS 1 slammed glove
  18. I think it would be a shame if someone played him solely because they were justifying the trade. I think they'll be playing him because they believe in his upside. If the other high upside guys reach BOS before Grissom gets to show it, he may as well end up as a part timer or be the odd man out.
  19. Are we talking about Vaughn Grissom or Xander Bogaerts?
  20. You'd be eating Yoshida's salary either way most likely. I don't think there's a team out there that is going to take more than 60% of that contract.
  21. It wouldn't be all that surprising to see Grissom platoon with one of the LHB guys at 2B until he gets going.
  22. He is only 23 though. I don't think the Sox are writing him off. He's going to have every chance to succeed because a lot of the guys you have ahead of are flash in the pan Hamilton, can't hit lefties Enmanuel and AAAA Romy.
  23. Greatest of All Time.
  24. How?
  25. I'm not sure he can field any other IF position than 2B.
