  1. They can all be Monty if they want!
  2. Or 2007. How was THAT a real WS? The Rockies are barely an MLB franchise!
  3. Not counting 2020 was just copium prior to the Doyers winning the next one.
  4. Vaz 2024: 78th percentile fielding run value 84th percentile framing 63rd percentile blocks Wong and Jeffers are about the same defensive profile. Bad. Both are bottom 15th percentile in blocks and franking but have decent pop times/caught stealing.
  5. And the Mets idea may be to tack on an extra year at 50M, which Soto may just rather retire at that point.
  6. Thank you everyone. This is your friendly reminder to keep this place politics free and let's move on to anything else.
  7. I specifically mentioned Lopez in my response. You overpaid on a trade for Lopez who had a great 2023, but has just been pretty good otherwise, especially when you look at Statcast (35th percentile run value last year). His only plus pitch last year was his 4 seamer. Hoffman just replaces Martin. You don't lose the Yoshida contract as you attached cash with it. You didn't clarify how much. Now you're paying for a guy that won't even appear.
  8. A few years later, he's got a below market deal!
  9. It's a really terrible pitching staff you created for a very expensive roster. Monty and Gio in the same rotation could be a real expensive stinker. Pablo is fine, but he Sox would have much control over him for what they gave up.
  10. LF at Fenway has provided cover for a lot of poor defensive players: Williams Rice Greenwell Manny Bay Gomes Hanley Yoshida
  11. No, I understood vaguely what happened that the lime tree was grated onto the orange tree and the lime tree failed somehow. Not all oranges are sweet. I wonder what type they were.
  12. One of the most expensive 87 win teams ever created.
  13. Not until he's in his late 30's at least. You can put him in LF and he'd be fine. Terrible range. Plus arm (90th percentile arm value). He's better than Manny was.
  14. He can push back, but it's obvious they weren't REALLY trying to compete. If they were trying, they did a bad job of it.
  15. My guess is that the Sox will continue to ignore Scott, but he'll never get another MLB job.
  16. Walk and chew bubble gum. They should still be able to sign Fried right now if they want to.
  17. One thing he may be doing intentionally or unintentionally is lying by omission. I'm just saying to take what he says with a grain of salt. Former GM's don't currently have a great track record of reliability.
  18. It seems like Henry wants to get it done, but he's not the only owner at the table. Soto isn't going to give him a $$$ amount as he (and his agent) just wants to go back and forth until he gets the most he can.
  19. I will say one thing: he seems to be on the Jim Bowden track (former GM who spouts off a lot of stuff because he's no longer in the business) and is trying to make a name for himself. I think his agenda is raising his profile so I'm taking everything with a grain of salt.
  20. About the same? Sevy is younger, threw more innings and had about the same bWAR as Pivetta last season, but has had a more up and down career recently. Moving to OAK will be good for Sevy as the large foul territory will help him out... Wait... He's playing in a AAA stadium for the next few years and that's the reason they had to overpay him? Ok.
