    Now batting Franklin Arias Mr 400 OPS. I'm pretty sure Salem's bus has air conditioning and the catering is fairly decent now. It's not the 1970's.

    I don't have a problem with the stolen bases and believe the pitching clock is not impacting pitchers at all. What is impacting pitchers is max effort for each pitch. If they dialed it back and learned more command and control, their arms would last longer.

    I think the ball is in Casas' court right now. Cora said it's a pain tolerance thing. Casas said he's struggling in at bats after he fouls off pitches. I think the Sox would love to have him up, but they are waiting on him. @alexspeier Casas said his greatest difficulty is during at-bats after foul balls. Since 8/4, he’s 2-for-12 with 6 Ks in at-bats in which he fouls off a pitch. @alexspeier What does Triston Casas want in order to say he’s major league-ready? To be “pain-free” - but he knows he might not get there by the time he’s activated

    If Breslow picked up Eflin, they'd still be on the outside looking in of the playoffs with a horrible looking pen.

    We all agreed this offseason that they didn't do enough. I think a lot of this conversation is just talking in circles. Without Henry allowing the Sox to go over the CBT, the rotation will just look like Frankenstein's monster for awhile. This monster was scary good for a little while and then scary bad later on once the villagers figured out how to fight it.

    He only looks solid because of how horrible the SS defense has been the past few years. Once the Sox get a decent defensive SS, nobody will want Rafaela there again.

    He's better than Rafaela that's for sure. I think it's important to make sure you take time and develop these guys the right way, especially guys that miss lots of time due to injury like Mayer. With Mayer, they'll super two him and he'll be up before the ASB next year. Just get a cheap defensive SS in the offseason. This season seems kinda toast with how horrible the pen is anyway.

    No more Rafaela at SS, please. I keep seeing people say that Rafaela is good at SS and that the metrics are wrong, but he's just bad.

    I would assume that pitching in the game, sitting on the bench, then warming up and throwing again is hard than we make it out to be. It's probably not the same as getting 3 outs in clean situation. I'm sure Cora knows how awful his relievers have been and isn't trying to put them in bad situations. He's just stuck with the guys he has. Bailey Horn? Cam Booser? Chase Shugart? These aren't guys you can count on. Kelly, Winckowski and Garcia are a different issue.
