  1. 31st percentile sprint speed -3 OAA Does that sound like a valuable player to you? 😪
  2. I don't know what Robert's value is at the moment. He's a big injury guy coming off a bad year, but has team control through 2027. I'm not sure what team would give up a top prospect for him.
  3. To me, I just believe there's value in the quantity and quality of prospects # 7, 8, 11 and 12 vs the quality of this # 2. If the trade was Arias, Fitts and Sandlin vs Mayer, I'd probably rather have Mayer. It's just the overall quantity and quality of the people added to the trade that gave me pause as well as my overall feelings on Mayer.
  4. Sandlin has starter upside. The Red Sox and scouts still believe he's a starter going forward. I haven't heard SoxProspects even hint at a bullpen role going forward. If he was a relief profile, he wouldn't be ranked anywhere near the top 10. Bleis started off slow at Salem, but ended very strong. He struggled after a move to Greenville and was popping everything up. The belief is that an offseason tweak will turn things around for him. Arias showed a lot of potential in FCL. He struggled at Salem as many hitters due because that park is awful and it's a big transition. I'm not super high on him but am interested in following him going forward. Fitts is an up and down guy now, but provides 6 years of value for an MLB arm going forward. Mayer is an oft injured SS who struggles with offspeed pitches and has split concerns. He is not the high ceiling prospect that some people believe he is. He won't be a perennial All Star. He won't match the production of Xander Bogaerts. His best case scenario is a tier below like Brandon Crawford, a valuable starter long term who may have some breakout seasons here and there.
  5. I'd rather trade Mayer than give up Arias, Bleis, Sandlin and Fitts.
  6. I guess that would mean Duran is the fulltime CFer and Robert is LF for the next 3 years? Fine. Robert is a big injury risk guy.
  7. CINN is well below the CBT. They could certainly afford him. Great American Ballpark is the best place for LHB to hit HR's. If he was there for 15 years, he could end his career with 800 HR's.
  8. Treinen was a dog in the WS, but is just seemingly permanently injured. Robertson is on his way to the farm up state at some point soon. Estevez is ok? Holmes has a lot of good things to like on Statcast and was probably unlucky this season. Scott's only blemish is the bb rate, but I'd happily overlook it. I'm not sure many people outside of Philly know who Hoffman is, but he was pretty solid and leaned on his slider this year. Yates is solid.
  9. Sox have done enough since trading Mookie to not be trusted. They need to earn it back. Everything prior to 2019 is history, pal.
  10. Mayer for Crochet straight up.
  11. Committed to being active in the FA market! The interest kings are back. 👑
  12. Yes, but it would take a while for me to get to that point. 1. I do have my own skateboard and have skated with my kids in the neighborhood. 2. I did not learn to skate until I was in my mid 40's and am definitely NOT proficient. 3. I can't currently drop in on the small half pipe with have in our garage and would not attempt it because I don't want to break my hip (I've heard that's how old people get put down). 4. The bowl I'd drop in on is the 6', not the 8'.
  13. They ended the year 14M under the CBT. They have 17M to use from Sale. They have 4M to use from Turner. They have 42M to use from players that left the org. Pivetta's 14M increase is NOT the end of the world. I don't think Brez would have given him the QO if he wouldn't have been ok with Pivetta accepting it.
  14. If he gets one 5th place vote this year as a Red Sox, I'll learn how to drop in the bowl on a skateboard at the local skate park my son goes to.
  15. He received ZERO first place votes!!!!! Kluber got 3 and Britton (47 saves, 0.54 ERA) got 5. In retrospect, I'd probably go: 1. Verlander 2. Kluber 3. Sale 4. Rick Porcello 5. Britton Verlander, Kluber and Sale all had really great seasons.
  16. Porcello won the CY Young by 5 voting points, but Verlander had more first place votes and probably should have received the trophy that year. Verlander was left off of the ballot on two ballots (not BOS voters, but by the two TB voters who each put Porcello 1).
  17. He had the same HR/9 in 2024 as Kutter, but Kutter takes all the grief.
  18. IDK, they are pretty meaningless to me.
