  1. I thought this was important to share considering Davy's standing here:
  2. I'm better than most observers, obviously.
  3. He didn't deserve that GG, not that GG's mean a whole lot anyway.
  4. His 26 games in the complex league in '21 doing a lot of lifting for that stat.
  5. I think Rafaela could eventually be as good or better than peak JBJ. He's probably as good as pre-prime JBJ. Beni made one decent catch in 2018 and everyone thinks he was a solid OFer. The catch he made was IMPORTANT, but it was a catch that is made on a almost nightly basis in MLB. Beni is basically Yoshida out there now. 2024 -7 OAA 5th percentile, -5 Arm Value 1st percentile 2023 -11 OAA 2nd percentile, -4 Arm Value 2nd percentile His OAA has been 0 or negative every season except for 2018.
  6. Ok, but he couldn't even hit LHP or offspeed AA pitching. He needs to at least learn to do that moderately at the AAA level before we can say he's MLB ready, right? My worry is that if he's advanced too soon, he'll get eaten alive. He's looked so great this spring and I want him to continue on that path.
  7. That COVID thread we tried worked out really well when we tried to ease up. No drama at all from what I remember. Anyway, I appreciate and support what Maddie has written, but will be abstaining from ongoing discussion.
  8. While I'm here, just going to give shoutouts to two players: https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=walker001fle https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/burkegl01.shtml
  9. Mayer is still hammering fastballs from RHP. It'll be interesting to see what his splits look like when he's in AAA. He has so many MLB tools right now. Hope he can work out some of the things we've noted previously (LHP/offspeed).
  10. Well... bye. We've seen how this ownership has run things. Crochet walking out that door wouldn't be beyond the pale.
  11. Mayer still hitting ropes and fielding smoothly.
  12. The "M" was for Marucci. I think the bat in the incident was a Rawlings though. Hard to tell via Youtube.
  13. Meat Sean Newcomb Not sure he's going to last, but will keep my fingers crossed for a local guy.
  14. My wife asked me if we should go to a Rays game this year when the Sox are in town. LOL
  15. What's the difference between the active roster and the major league roster? When you search for the 26 man roster on MLB.com it is noted as "Active Roster."
  16. C - 16th place 1B - 7th place 2B - 18th place SS - 10th place 3B - 7th place OF - 5th place DH - 6th place SP - 5th place RP - 9th place 88 - 74
  17. Yes as it's about how many games the player is on the active roster, not about promotion date.
  18. Mar: 23.4 k%, 17.0 bb% The BABIP should even out over time.
  19. Yuck, the 2001 Red Sox!
  20. If it doesn't work out, sending him back to AAA wouldn't be the end of the world. If it does work out and he wins the ROY, great!
  21. No shortage of pitcher injuries in this day and age.
  22. He's not the one controlling the budget.
  23. We've asked the same about Paxton and others in previous years. I wouldn't count on it!
