  1. Some people believe DH is playing a part of it. IDK. Maybe? Take a call from Papi or whoever. I think the Sox looked fine enough. Aside from the top of the order starting slow, there was mostly good stuff to look forward to. Campbell and Wilyer both played well (even thought people wanted to crap all over Campbell after one game in typical fashion). Wong's arm looks healthy. Narvaez looks good behind the plate. Bregman is solid. The bullpen pitched well.
  2. If Story is going to be worse offensively than a platoon of Romy/Hamilton, it's time to DFA. I think he should be better. Will he be? Right now, it's hard for me to just say "Devers will figure it out" when he's been dreadful since the shoulder issues started last August. He's a great hitter WHEN HEALTHY. I just don't know if he's able to play at his normal level. If he is healthy, then he should figure it out. However, I'm going to remain skeptical about anything concerning Devers' health until he's shown that he's feeling great and is really swinging it.
  3. Always looking for a fight, aren't you... 🫣
  4. Sox being 1-3 isn't the end of the world. I'm not worried about it. I'm worried about the health of Devers' shoulder considering they let him play through it last season and let Crawford play through a knee issue last season that now has Crawford on the IL. Raffy has had rough stretches before, but he's never looked this bad. Something is up.
  5. The certifiable way to show that you don't have an argument is to just run with a dumb nickname.
  6. Them allowing him to have such an extreme stance and then looking so brutal is not great!
  7. If he was 100% healthy, we didn't he even pick up a bat this offseason? It makes no sense. He doesn't look right at all. He looks completely uncomfortable up there.
  8. 1. Fix his batting stance so it's not so wide open. It's more extreme than it has ever been. At least get it back to '23 levels. 2. Give him a day off. 3. Second opinion the shoulder injury. Lots of players push themselves through injury. Mayer did it in '23 and it wrecked his numbers. 4. Have a talk with Cora. Remember, Cora is a guy who has said "this player should be back, he's healthy, it's just a pain tolerance thing" or whatever. He did this last year with Casas. Maybe Cora needs to reevaluate this position. Maybe he's leaning on Devers too much?
  9. Anyway, nobody look at NIck Pivetta's line from yesterday.
  10. Raffy cares. He's not pouting. He's frustrated that he's struggling. To me, it's his shoulder. When you have a 300M investment in a guy like Raffy, you shouldn't be putting him in this position.
  11. Nice to see a pulled moon shot and an oppo taco from Roman.
  12. I think he was referencing Devers' ST OPS of 553 in 5 games.
  13. Kutter Crawford pitched all season long with a knee problem. They opted for no surgery. That same knee now has him on the IL. Raffy has a bum shoulder last season. They opted for no surgery. He didn't pick up a bat all last season to rest. He looks as bad at the plate as he did last year with the bad shoulder.
  14. On Devers, he didn't have much ST time. He hasn't hit at all since the injury issues started last August. He didn't swing a bat at all in the offseason. He's either way behind in getting ready or is still dealing with a shoulder problem. I know some people are screaming "but it's just 4 games" and I get it. However, injury plus no spring training plus historically bad start needs to be at least some sort of red flag no matter how small. I think the wrong DH is in AAA on the 10 day IL right now. Would Masa be lighting the world on fire? No. However, his bats would be more competitive and he played more in ST than Raffy did. I'm rooting for Raffy, I'm just worried that he's being thrown into the fire and leaned on when he's not ready and/or is injured. It doesn't seem fair to him at this point. Casas is what he is. I wish he had a better 2 strike approach. We've seen him start slow before. Bregman is typically a slow starter, but has looked good to me. No complaints. Story has been fine. Aside from Devers, I can chalk up most everyone else's issues to SSS. Houck was better than ST, but probably isn't a TOTR guy. Buehler just may be a 4th starter.
  15. Casas and Story have watched a few called 3rd strikes too. Drives me crazy. Protect the plate.
  16. The bigger issue is lack of production at the top of the lineup IMO. LOB can come down to luck like the Narvaez ground out. Hit anywhere else in the IF and Campbell maybe scores.
