  1. He was looking at the Canadian conversion rate for 736 OPS. Thought it was only 510 US OPS.
  2. Oh, but he only OPS'd 624 in AUG and 774 in Sept. He couldn't possibly be good going forward!
  3. Story can get over 1 fWAR. I have him getting to 4, but in this scenario I just need to be a bit over 1. Even if Casas isn't crushing it from day one, if he replicates 2023, he'll be WAY over 810 OPS.
  4. Having that many platoon options for guys that can only play DH/OF seems like a big drain on the bench IMO.
  5. For past results, (i.e. the year that just ended) it should be what actually happened or bWAR. If we want to project going forward, it should be what should (could?) have happened or fWAR.
  6. Last year, of Tyler O'Neill's 473 PA's, only 156 were against LHP. Almost 2/3's of his PA's were against RHP where he had a 693 OPS. Forgive me if I don't get too worked up over it.
  7. I was told by someone here that if Sale stuck around another year that he wouldn't have been any good. 🤷‍♀️
  8. I didn't because I have some self respect.
  9. Casas under 810? Story at 1 fWAR? Devers at 849? (Hasn't been that low for a full season since 2018) Duran at 3 fWAR if he plays 150 games? Abreu under 750 OPS? (MLB career low projection?) I'm smashing the over on all of those. Those projections are light AF.
  10. I think there are a lot of "promising" things about the club, but we've been given a lot of "promising" things that haven't worked out the past few years. Ownership needs skin in the game IMO. Right now, Henry is an absentee owner who has complained more about the Dodgers and Mets spending than about small market owners that don't have long term stadium plans and barely spend their revenue sharing. From the outside looking in, it gives the appearance that HE doesn't want to spend.
  11. He makes public statements, but is constrained in what he can say. He can't go out and say "I want to trade Casas, Yoshida, Abreu and these other 5 guys." If those trades don't go through, those players will be pretty pissed for a while. Fans want clarity and insight, but they aren't really entitled to it at all times. It's fair for them to say "spend more" but not to be upset at Breslow if he isn't putting the dirty laundry out there the way Sam/Cora did with the Bregman situation initially.
  12. But other teams can use the deferred contract trick and have revenue sources of their own. Even the smaller market teams are being funded by the larger market teams and their tv deals to some respect.
  13. I'm not a Grissom believer, but I agree with this post.
  14. Sox still have a commanding lead with 8 We Trieds this offseason. Next closest team is at 5. Really impressive bit of business.
  15. SoxProspects had 11 other pitching prospects ahead of Rodriguez at the time of the trade.
  16. About where they were at the end of last season. Seems fair.
  17. I don't believe a RHB is really all that necessary with Story coming back and Campbell being added into the mix. Also, Devers and Casas don't have platoon issues. Furthermore, here are the park factors for Fenway: RHB: 104 park factor, 108 runs LHB: 110 park factor, 121 runs Fenway favors left handed batters!
  18. Any other team could do what the Dodgers are doing.
  19. If Fulmer is being stretched out, it's to fill a Chase Andersen type role. I think they'll have multiple guys that are able to throw multiple innings out of the pen, especially if they are considering a six man rotation.
  20. Are you expecting him to just throw his whole plan out there for the public and other teams to see. What purpose would that serve?
  21. Roman Anthony #1 prospect in baseballKristian Campbell Closer to Roman than some might think.Marcelo Mayer With Teel and Montgomery out of the picture, he's the clear #3 without much discussion.Luis Perales I don't want to ding him for getting injured so I'm leaving him where I would have had him prior to injury.Franklin Arias Needs to hit outside of the FCL to get any higher. Miguel Bleis Probably at risk of falling if he has a slow start in 2025.Yoeilin Cespedes Needs a defensive home and more PA's. Richard Fitts Low ceiling/high floor? Mikey Romero Added power, needs to be able to maintain the hit tool. Jhostynxon Garcia Recently added to the 40 man. Not sure when he will get to MLB. Late 2026 at earliest? Johanfran Garcia Good hit tool. Has work to do behind the plate. David Sandlin Ultimately a relief profile? Yordanny Monegro Needs to work on his fastball. May be limited once he hits AA. Payton Tolle Could have helium once the season starts. Hunter Dobbins May get some run in the BOS rotation in '25. Juan Valera Long way to go. Needs to figure out a third pitch. Luis Guerrero Pitched very well down the stretch. Will lose prospect eligibility early on in '25. Connelly Early LHP with a lot of tools. Should be able to handle himself well through the minors and have some sort of MLB impact either in the back end of the rotation or in the pen. Dalvinson Reyes Has 3 pitches. Throws strikes. Limited by strength and conditioning in '24.Justin Gonzales Large frame. Lots of power. 1B/LF/DH only most likely.
  22. But they have Crawford and Julio Rodriguez and Arozarena and...
