  1. This same writer said Tee Higgins was signing with the Pats. 🤡
  2. Bloom's good pitching acquisitions: Martin Perez Jeffrey Springs Nick Pivetta Adam Ottavino Michael Wacha Rich Hill John Schreiber Matt Strahm Garrett Whitlock Brennan Bernardino The problem is that those guys were all spread out over 4 years and most had limited upside on one year deals. He threw enough stuff at the walls that some would stick, but the pitching always kind of lagged. Instead of going cheap in '22, they would have been better off going large on Gausman as many people wanted. They ended up going over the CBT anyway. Then don't be el cheapo and give Eflin a larger offer in '23 when Eovaldi comes off the books.
  3. You have to run further from the dugout to get to RF. This was done to save his legs. 😎
  4. When Breggie wears his, it looks like a kid wearing his dad's clothes.
  5. Advanced metrics haven't been happy with the balls he's put in play so far. They noted that we should expect a return to form for Bregman, which we have already seen. Story? Fingers crossed for SSS issue.
  6. Disagree since he only appeared in 163 games in the first 3 seasons. If he just stays off 60 day IL, he should double that fWAR easily.
  7. Over the next THREE seasons.
  8. Sprint Speed: 2025: 28.1 (7 SB in last 23 G). 2022: 28.4 I don't think we are concerned about his range at the moment.
  9. However, I'm going to say that Aita has the stuff that gets a guy to AAA pretty quickly. Don't know if he'll take that additional step, but he should handle the low minors fairly easily. If he continues to add velo, his stock goes to the top 20 easily.
  10. If they went Sandlin, Valera and Clarke, it would have been too much to handle for Opening Day.
  11. “He (Bregman) was like, ‘I signed with the freaking Red Sox,'” Cora said. “I was like, ‘What?’ because I gave up, you know? He was like, ‘Yeah, I signed with the freaking Red Sox,’ and he showed me (son) Knox with the hat of the Red Sox. Then he tells me (wife) Reagan is going to go to Harvard. I was like, ‘Man, you guys played us well. You guys did a good job.'”
  12. At their core, Bregman feels he and Cora are incredibly similar. “I feel like A.C. loves baseball as much as I do,” Bregman told reporters during his introductory press conference Sunday morning in Fort Myers, Fla, per team-provided video. “He wakes up every single day and wants to win. He is a hard worker, a competitor, just a baseball guy. And so am I and I think that’s why we get along.” “He caught my attention in 2017. And throughout the years, he keeps evolving, he keeps getting better,” Cora told reporters, per team-provided video. “The most important thing: he wants to win. That’s it. For him, it’s his family, his baseball and winning. And I’m excited to have him here now.”
  13. Story has played a full 4 seasons already? That's news to me.
  14. Right. My point was the one year he played, he was ok. Didn't live up to the contract, but wasn't an embarrassment. If he finds a way to stay healthy going forward, it should be better than the Ellsbury contract. If he has another significant injury, it's the Ellsbury contract or worse potentially.
  15. He's got the arm for 2B/LF. I don't think Campbell is a 3B at the moment. Maybe he is eventually moved to LF fulltime when Duran leaves in FA, but I think he's at 2B for a few years, at least that's where I'd have him.
  16. Please continue down this road and live in an alternate reality. The only place he has shown himself to be a selfish player is inside your own head. 🫠
  17. We made it. It's POR, GRE and SAL Opening Day! Uberstine, Mullins and Aita get the starts.
  18. Ellsbury: 7/153, provided 62.7M value per FanGraphs. Story: 6/140, provided 27.1M with about 3 years to go. He needs to be a 4.7 fWAR guy for the next 3 seasons to fully earn the contract. If he provides anything more than 1.5 fWAR per season over the next 3 seasons, it's better than what Ellsbury did. If he had played like '22 and never got hurt, the contract would have been fine.
  19. I don't want him to, just bracing for the possibility.
  20. A winning streak, also known as a win streak or hot streak, is an uninterrupted sequence of success in games or competitions, commonly measured by at least three wins that are uninterrupted by losses or ties.
  21. He got the team to .500 and signed a few extensions after trading for an ACE. The farm system is starting to lean heavily on pitching dev. I have no complaints.
  22. If Bregman opts out: Story SS Campbell 2B Mayer 3B If Bregman stays: Mayer SS Campbell 2B Bregman 3B Story UTIL I don't think you lose much defensively either way.
