  1. And I do appreciate it saying "Twins Daily" on the top corner.
  2. We've seen Tim Anderson's boxing skills, I think a few of the posters on here could get a few punches in. I'm not sure which ones though.
  3. Wrong, especially when it impacts future years of control when you can just hold him down until July. He has less than 50 PAs in AAA. It makes no sense to rush him up if he's not busting down the door.
  4. They aren't going to dump Cora because they just extended him. If they fire Fatse, who are they going to replace him with? What great hitting coach is sitting at home waiting for a call mid April? Sox are 7th highest in k%. The number is trending in the right direction, just slowly. Right now, they just aren't showing a lot of power and the defense is inconsistent. Duran and Casas at the top of the lineup just aren't getting it done. However, Duran is 88th percentile in exit velo and 74th percentile in hard hit %. His hits will start falling in. Casas is only 21st percentile in hard hit. Combining that with his bad defense is really weighing down the top of the lineup. However, he did only have a 533 OPS going into the same day on 2023 and ended up having a pretty solid year. There's still time. The defense isn't going to be helped if they keep moving Campbell between OF/2B. He will continue to struggle. Duran has also started off the year slow in LF (-3 DRS, -2 OAA). He can probably turn it around. Casas has always been horrible at 1B and that won't be fixed until there's a replacement.

  6. Mayer has a 567 OPS in AAA. He needs a little more time before y'all promote him.
  7. Sox offense is 2nd in hard hit and were even smoking the ball yesterday (contrary to what some people thought in the game thread yesterday). They are just not getting the right launch angle at the moment. I believe the offense will turn it around eventually.
  8. I think we need to trade about half our fanbase and consider demoting some posters to https://talksox.com/forums/forum/42-red-sox-minor-league-talk/
  9. With those guns, my initial thoughts were Kapler, Lansing or somebody who got popped for PEDs. I was going to go with Shea Hillenbrand, but I'm not comfortable with it because of how hairy those arms are. LouMer?
  10. Day Bello? Yuck! Daytime Bello: 855 OPS, 5.48 ERA, 1.632 WHIP
  11. Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson reportedly was involved in a physical altercation with teammate Yasmani Grandal, less than a month before his suspension for squaring up in a benches-clearing brawl with the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday. Grandal allegedly slapped Anderson in the face and the two had to be separated in the clubhouse prior to the White Sox’s game with the Cardinals on July 9, according to Shane Riordan, an executive producer for the “Parkins & Spiegel” show on 670 The Score in Chicago. Riordan reported during Monday’s show that things escalated when Grandal complained in the clubhouse about not being in the lineup for Chicago’s home game against St. Louis, which took place a day before the All-Star break. Grandal, in an expletive-filled rant, said he wanted to leave for the break a day early since he was not in the lineup, multiple sources told Riordan. When Anderson, who was in the cold tub at the time, overheard Grandal’s comments, he offered to help remove Grandal from the clubhouse. According to Riordan: “Tim Anderson says, ‘Well, f–k you f–k that,’ if he wants to get out of here now, I’ll pay for his flight and bring him there myself. “Yasmani Grandal walks over to Tim Anderson and slaps him across the face and they got into a fight from here. They had to be separated.” He's a guy that tears down teammates rather than builds them up per reports. Not a great combo for this team IMO.
  12. Huh? You might need to check the statcast. Sox had 5 exit velos above 107.
  13. The mojo system worked great when we had active posters that were invested in getting game threads up. The past few years, that went away. Standardizing the system is a good change. Having games start without a thread is unacceptable.
  14. The radio announcer (Cooper Boardman maybe? Not Will Flemming) is making sure to remind everyone every few seconds how many hits the ChiSox have. 🙃
  15. Sabol letting that Abreu throw get by is little league
  16. He’s been brutal. Either watching called third strikes or popping up first pitches. Yuck.
  17. I don't want to get into it, but yes? He's probably not going to have an All Star ceiling, but should be able to stick around the majors for a while. He's ok defensively and can put the bat on the ball. For a small market team like the ChiSox, he's a great fit. He really wasn't going to find a fulltime role here, but maybe a bench spot.
