  1. This is fine, but I wouldn't make it a strict platoon. Rafaela would also be getting backup reps at CF/2B/SS.
  2. His BB rate died after leaving Salem. He needs to fix that. Also, a lot more of his contact was going oppo and/or on the ground in AA. We've seen issues like that from Blaze Jordan who isn't always able to hand velo and pull the ball with authority. Sox believed in him enough to put him on the 40 man. We'll see how he develops this year.
  3. Wong will be the same. Narvaez should be ok enough for a backup. They still need a long term fix. I really think Campbell just wins the 2b job in ST and stabilizes the position. Story is going to have a 4 WAR season. Abreu will platoon. Anthony will be called up. Rafaela has a diminished role as UTIL. Hendriks is the closer into May. Slaten takes it over for the rest of the year. Devers will be better pairing up with Story for 150 games. No change for Casas.
  4. I bet y'all didn't know the Sox had the 3rd best offseason in the MLB.
  5. From the outside looking in, a more reasonable goal for this team is 85 wins. This is not a 90 win team.
  6. 706 OPS in AA. He needs to prove it at a higher level considering what you wrote about the hit tool scouting report. Even if he has a strong year, he won't be helping the big club at any point.
  7. Kind of wild that Valera received a top 100 vote. I wonder if he makes a big jump in the rankings this year.
  8. 90 wins isn't taking the division.
  9. As in the Tigers don't have more money to spend or anywhere to play him considering that they Jace Jung at 3b right now? Once they signed Torres it seemed that Bregman was out in DET.
  10. Wasn't Pivetta going to get a big deal?
  11. When was the last time the A's actually tried? Pittsburgh hasn't had a top 20 payroll since Cots started tracking in 2000. The Rays are currently too busy tanking their stadium deal to be bothered with anything else. They'll be out of Tampa sooner rather than later.
  12. That would explain some of the posting behaviors here.
  13. Your arguments for signing Bregman come down to "well they gotta sign somebody!" A truly horrible strategy of signing a player just to sign a player. I don't like the player plain and simple. 3 years at 3b or nothing IMO. Anything more or a move to 2b is dumb dumb dumb.
  14. Even if they sign Bregman, what's the other move? There needs to be more to come, because this team ain't it! They already let the best relievers get signed. The catching situation is ROUGH long term. They are leaning heavily on young players who haven't played in the bigs yet.
  15. Sure, now to set the clock back to 12/1/24 and acquire some top flight relievers! OOOPS they did it again.
  16. That may fly in Koreatown in LA, but over in Chavez Ravine they won't stand for it. Probably will need to show up late and leave by the 8th inning every game if that happens!
  17. Not enough space on the roster to platoon everyone unfortunately.
  18. Which previous year? There have always been IFA's posted in the 30-50 range before they've appeared in games. See my post above.
  19. Hey, there's a long history of fine TalkSox accountants. Truly the sweet science!
  20. To have Hyeseong and Ha-Seong would be too much even for them.
  21. All of the other owners are more rich than ever and none of them wanted Kirby Yates before 1/21. Hard to be upset at the Dodgers right now when our owner is pinching pennies while raking fans over the coals.
  22. Their IF is kinda light... Why not Bregman?
  23. Hats off to the Dodgers. It just shows how greedy the Sox ownership really is.
