    Is anyone on here ranting and raving about Nate Eaton? Spring Training stats don't matter. How a player looks matter. Campbell had a rough first few games. So do many other players. Since then, he's cut down his k's and looks more comfortable. Lou Merloni mentioned that he thought he had put too much pressure on himself (he was the only guy of the new big 3 that people were slotting in for the Opening Day roster), but is now playing looser and is more patient at the plate. If Lou is happy with where he's at, who am I to complain? People talk about stuff all the time that I find to be annoying. I just don't participate in those conversations! It's not that hard.

    Ah yes, the "it wasn't me, it was them" routine. I hear this every morning when my kids are trying to get ready for school and can't stop bickering with each other. It's really fun for the rest of us.

    After this season, he only needs to make more than 5/131.5 to beat the DET offer. All of his offers this year were larger than that and for a higher AAV.

    He probably wants to play in an offensive park that will make him good AND be on a team that will be somewhat competitive.

    He was the Minor League Player of the Year last season! Previous winners: Jackson Holliday Gunnar Henderson - pretty good! Bobby Witt Jr - pretty good! Gavin Lux Vlad Jr - pretty good! Ronald Acuna - pretty good! In the 40+ years the award has been around, the misses have been few and far between. Even the guys that weren't perennial All Stars, still had long MLB careers.

    Rafaela looks good RIGHT NOW IN SPRING TRAINING and a lot of people are super excited about it (see: Lou Merloni). However, it's hard for me to extrapolate such a small sample against pitchers that are working on their stuff rather than trying to get guys out. He's also not always going against tippy top pitchers... I mean, I get that there are some good swing decisions that he's made so far, but I don't want to make too much out of it until we see it over a longer term during the regular season. It's good to be hopeful, but don't project him to cut his k rate in half and his bb rate to get to 10% or something silly.

    I didn't understand your point because you didn't say where Rafaela was, you just said is Rafaela better than Campbell or Romy/Hamilton platoon. To me, I wondered if you meant Rafaela was in the mix at 2b. You didn't have him listed anywhere else in your post! Where else would I assume you had him? Sometimes you make people read a little too much in between the lines with your 90k posts. 🫠

    I think that's basically how Campbell, Mayer and Anthony make their way onto the season early on anyway (performing bigly, MLB not performing bigly, MLB injuries).

    With Hickey, the glove was always a question and the likelihood of him having to move to 1B/LF was always in consideration. I don't believe there is desperation here, it's just the realization that C isn't working out.
