  1. I can think of a few young guys that could help out.
  2. If other teams are getting Brock Stewart (0.7 fWAR) for James Outman. I'd say Dustin May (0.8 fWAR) for James Tibbs and Zach Ehrhard is a huge overpay. Outman for Tibbs and Ehrhard would have been a fleecing!
  3. Needs to have a few down the stretch for the trade to be worthwhile. Unless they are finally banishing Buehler from the rotation (they won't), it doesn't move the needle for me. There's a chance he's left off a postseason roster.
  4. 1b's drafted in the First Round since Casas 2019: Andrew Vaughn, Michael Toglia 2020: Spencer Torkelson (drafted 3b), Aaron Sabato 2021: None 2022: Xavier Isaac, Reggie Crawford (two way player, now only pitches) 2023: Nolan Schanuel, Bryce Eldridge 2024: Nick Kurtz 2025: Andrew Fischer (announced as 3b, most likely a 1b)
  5. He's gone 7 IP as many times as May has this season.
  6. Also, Outman has a 946 OPS with average OF defense vs Vaughn's 857 and concrete glove.
  7. The Minnesota Twins made a lot of really bad trades. Breslow was just focused on Joe Ryan unfortunately.
  8. Fitts? Criswell? May hasn't been very good this year. It's been his worst year so far in the bigs.
  9. I don't know if he would have been DFA'd. It was an overpay even if they do re-sign him in the offseason. Even if they can unlock something in him, it's going to take time to do. There's only two months left before the playoffs. They couldn't unlock anything in Buehler. Why assume it'll happen here? He's a 5th starter rental. Is he even much of an upgrade over internal options?
  10. Maybe nobody else wants him either?
  11. Hamilton is a bad bat, but his glove is better and has speed. We've also seen him get streaky hot with the bat. Could be nice down the stretch?
  12. Bergert has a 4.46 xERA and only goes 2 times through the order. Beat the breaks off this guy in his first start after being traded.
  13. The boxscores aren't the most important things to an org. It's what you are doing day in and day out. If Grissom can hit AAA pitching, but he's not doing the things that will make him successful at the next level, why call him up?
  14. That was a month and a half ago at this point. 🫠
  15. It was "oh s***, we gotta get this guy or we're getting nobody." May was getting kicked from the Dodgers rotation and the Dodgers run out of guys every year. I liked the Matz move, I'm dubious on the May one.
  16. "Potential bat first utility player. Ceiling of a second division regular at second base." How dare they! If he comes up it's due to a lack of depth in the high minors because they are too pitching focused.
  17. I wouldn't add him to the 40 man. If someone takes him, good luck.
  18. Nobody deserves a shot.
  19. Nothing to miss. Bad trade. Bad fit for the org.
  20. I drank Moxie growing up, so Good and Pithy was fine. The only candy I never liked was bit o' honey. Give me a package of circus peanuts over those things.
  21. His 2b defense is still pretty rough, so... No matter what, he needs to spend a ton of time this offseason on his right side of the IF defense.
  22. It's a roster crunch that pushes him to part time 1b. 🫠
  23. Sox needed a better backup option and not put all their eggs into acquiring a controllable starter at the deadline.
