    I wouldn't say "vast majority" but a significant amount. I'd also say that the Sox have a history of making trades at the very end of the deadline.

    Sox have shown interest in Civale. Are worried about the next CBT threshold ($9-10M), which is complicating the deadline per Chris Cotillo.

    I'd rather Murphy than Hicks or Alcala. Murphy throws harder than Bernardino and matches Weissert and Burdi.

    Maybe? Every pitch of his is really good except for his 4 seamer which he throws 50% of the time.

    Murphy is better, for sure. If they get to September, they may pull the cord and let Alcala go. Criswell and Campbell are the two worst pitchers on the 40 man. Alcala gets let go because he doesn't have options though. Kind of depends on what other moves they make between then? IDK. I think Murphy has a similar ceiling to Crawford. People were probably too high on Crawford at one point and probably too low on Murphy now.

    That was one of my complaints when they were yapping after the Devers trade. Why bother state that you're going to be BUYERS at the deadline if you can't guarantee it. Don't put those expectations out there! The same crap happened last year with Tom Werner in the offseason.

    We'll see! A regular person coming back from the injury is much different than a large human like Casas who needs to generate a lot of power from his lower body. A significant knee injury could be career altering as we've seen with other MLB players. Those are the facts and the facts are undisputed!

    My personal preference is to do a huge rebuilding in the offseason, rather than massive spending at the deadline. I think nibbling can be fine. Nibbling worked in 2018 and 2021. I don't think any of us saw those moves as being huge, but they worked out well.

    The Sox aren't going to pay trade deadline prices for Joe Ryan when they can get him much cheaper this offseason if they want him.
