  1. Garcia and Campbell should spend the remainder of '25 in AAA mashing and working on defense. No reason to force them into part time positions and potentially struggle down the stretch.
  2. He's over the 1st CBT right now. I think he was over the 2nd with Devers. We'll see how it shakes out next year with all the $$$ coming off the books. To me, winning is more important than payroll and 20, 22-24 were no fun.
  3. No path forward when there’s a gaping hole at 1b… Also, nobody knows what this team will look like in 2 years. Injuries and production could derail any career.
  4. We're not always right, but we were definitely right then. Were right before he signed with KC too. Not sure why they didn't like him?
  5. Truly? Teddy Ballgame had a 921 OPS vs LHP in '39. He wasn't going to be platooned after that.
  6. If Rafaela just stopped swinging at sliders 2 ft out of the zone, it'd improve his chase rate. Does that fundamentally change his approach? Seems like it's a question of pitch recognition instead.
  7. Lucky to get a good 2 weeks!
  8. Abreu's seemed egregious to me. Next offseason, I don't want to hear much about ZiPS. It has as much value as BTV. It can be a fun little tool, but it's not an argument in and of itself.
  9. Alcala didn't clear waivers, claimed by Bloom and the Cardinals.
  10. Should be replacing Buehler or May at some point.
  11. It's fair to complain about the chase rate. That's one of the clearest paths to bringing the offense back to earth. Right now, they are really relying on good pitching. If those arms tire or take a step back, the offense has work to do.
  12. MN didn't want Duran or Abreu. They didn't seriously consider trading Ryan to begin with.
  13. Jackson Merrill signed for 9/135. Wander signed for 11/182. I think Roman would have rather taken this deal than gone for 15/240 with escalators. Not sure where the 100M comes from anyway.
  14. He seemed to be a good buy low option though, especially that first offseason when nobody had signed him and it was already ST.
  15. Wacha was NOT healthy or have that reputation after '22.
  16. I just thought the ZiPS projections were pretty bad for the a few of the Sox and it seems that they were a little to conservative.
  17. No, I think May sucks and hated the trade when it was made. I don't think Breslow and Bailey think that though.
  18. I'm pretty sure most posters remember the past three years and don't have to be reminded every single bad play in every single game thread.
  19. Not sure what any of this has to do with the ZiPS projections telling us that the Sox were supposed to be very bad this year and the Mariners very good?
  20. No msn articles, please. I don't think Breslow and Bailey look at May and expect success on day 1.
  21. I don't think they'll be moving Masa.
  22. Seems like the Mariners were hoping to acquire a fulltime 2b rather than the hodgepodge they are running out there this season? This doesn't mean it would have been a good trade.
  23. I love having to do the work for everyone around here! It's like constant fetch quests for the grumpiest middle aged dorks around.
  24. Wilyer and Jarren have already surpassed their dumb ZiPS projections for 2025.
