  1. September was really bad and he should have sat out. The beginning of the season was scary. He was struggling a little bit after the STL series, but his body language wasn't the concerning type we've seen like in September or March/early April. I think he's feeling better and believes he can get back to it.
  2. Why are you arbitrarily picking the ASB? It makes no sense. Use the incident that actually caused the decrease in production and when it forced him to miss three straight games at the end of AUG. You are saying "he's been bad since the ASB" but I have proven otherwise. I'm sure you could work a time period to get the OPS to be dead on if you wanted!
  3. Story: leads BOS in HR 2nd BOS in SB (0 CS) leads BOS in thin ice %
  4. 7/19-8/26: 359/522 8/30-9/20: 262/178 3/27-4/27: 350/396 Not seeing the similarities TBH
  5. 😶 I did some research and the Chicago Manual of Style changed how they treat this in 2010. Why would they do this and not let me know?
  6. Yuck! Red Sox are now 6-7 against teams above .500. SEA is the only AL team with a winning record against teams above .500. 148 runs for the Sox is 2nd in the AL.
  7. Because of his numbers in September after his shoulder was completely toast. He was fine for the entirety of July and early Aug.
  8. When he needed to take a break due to his shoulder injury? 7/19-8/5 1055 OPS 7/19-8/26(before 3 game injury break to rest shoulder) 881 OPS
  9. And I'm not even sure how many of the posts are even "outbursts." When I'm participating, I'm not imagining other posters getting worked up to the point where they are actually believe "Devers SUCKS" and are deeply emotional about it. More likely they are just annoyed he has struck out again and are hopeful that he can pull out of it in the next at bat and were just expressing frustration at that one point in time. Most posters like all the players and want them to do well. It's fine if they vent their frustrations during the game, because that's typical fan behavior. Lose? They stink! Win? They're great! Strike out? Bad! Home run? Good! That's just the nature of watching baseball. No reason to overanalyze the game threads, but people LOVE to do it.
  10. I don't think they'd have to unload that much to trade him. Just eat half the contract and you can find a taker most likely. His contract is bad, but there are way worse contracts in baseball. He may not even be top 10.
  11. Yeah, that's how it always works in the game threads. You don't have to take those posts literally. I probably posted DFA Sale at some point in the same way my grandpa would just get annoyed at the tv and yell "you bums." It's not that serious.
  12. Clarke just shouldn't be in Low A. His stuff is too overpowering for that level and I'm not sure he can learn anything there. Aita's last 3 starts weren't as dominant as the first one, we'll see what the rest of his season looks like. He should get to AAA without a problem considering his pitch mix and spin rate. I don't know if they can turn Drohan into a starter again, but if he can be a reliever that goes 2 innings like Whitlock it has a ton of value. I haven't actually watched him pitch yet, so all I have seen are clips and the stats.
  13. Newcomb pitched like a fill-in. Hard to get too excited over his performance when you look at his numbers and the stuff behind his numbers. If Gio can't get to that level, DFA.
  14. Grissom is a bad MIFer. That doesn't mean he can't play elsewhere. He's probably athletic enough for COF/1B maybe 3B. Just because a guy is terrible at SS doesn't mean he's a DH.
  15. That's not what those words mean.
  16. He's not walking hitters and not giving up hard contact. I think we were worried that he could look more backend-ish, but I'm happy even if he is just another middle rotation guy. He throws the entire kitchen sink while he's out there, but might want to skip the cutter going forward or at least limit its use as it's getting hit around more than the other pitches. Kinda weird since it was his only good pitch last season.
  17. In MVP04, I believe the announcers talk every game about how Trot picked his number after Mickey Mantle. After the hundredth time, you want to sub him out, but he's too good going oppo in that game. A lot of people like the 05 version of that game, but I still go back to 04, the one with Pujols on the cover.
  18. Tyler Miller with walk off tater!
  19. David “20 pitches an inning” Sandlin
  20. Also, there is a considerable difference between the WOO tv presentation and POR’s. 😬
  21. Sandlin is not a starter. Overhyped IMO. Early, Dobbins, Fitts are better prospects. Paez may be a better starter profile too.
  22. Interesting as I'm not aware of any rookie being ineligible for the award. I tried searching, but came up empty. Maybe he's confused about this wording concerning pre-arb bonus payments for the ROY and super two players? IDK. There wasn't anything in the CBA that limited a rookie's ability to be voted for ROY from what I read. (This could be outlined in some other document of course.)
