The reports are really all over the place. Abraham and McAdam saying it's not a big deal. Cafardo mentioning BV (shocker there). Others stating more in line with what you guys have posted. Frankly, we all know he's nuts. I don't think this issue has changed my mind about that. If seems that Farrell and Nieves handled it well. If it happens again, then ghere's a story. For now, I think it's being blown out of proportion.

The article says "his first few pitches" were thrown at bp speed. It didn't say "players" (just Salty) or "lobbed."

If SBF seriously thinks Kalish injured his shoulder because McCoy is a terrible stadium, then he's wrong on both accounts...

SBF's point is he wouldn't have been injured in Boston. Knowing what we know now, it should be obvious that Kalish was likely to get injured wherever he was playing.

Rhode Island drivers are horrible. Aside from that, SBF's point isn't valid.

My only point is that it doesn't make sense to give up on younger Iglesias, but give more leeway to Lavarnway.

So it's not concerning that Lavs (a projected DH) struggled mightily at the plate in Boston last year? Yuck.

Why would they care about the WBC? They are considering moving him because he's a poor SS.

When even soxprospects is saying he won't wind up being a SS, he can't possibly be the most talented SS since Nomar.

Or else why even invite them to big league camp, right? If a kid is mashing in AAA, they shouldn't wait to bring him up. They have nothing to lose.

Fans would rather see wins or at least be familiar with the roster to root for their favorite players. With the roster turnover and short term veteran deals, I think the Sox won't please many over the next few years.

And his defense still stinks. As a full time C last year, his power was sapped. I just don't see it. Iglesias is an elite defensive SS. Lavarnway is below average in the field and struggled with the bat in Boston last year. Saying he needs more time, but Iglesias is "done" is ridiculous.

Iglesias is 2 years younger than Lavarnway and an elite defender. Lavarnway is below average across the board. How has Jose's time run out, but Lavs is free to stick around? That just makes no sense.

They aren't winning jack this year. There's no better time to throw a few prospects in the deep end and see if they can swim. There is no point in waiting. If you're worried about hurting a fragile psyche, well then maybe they wouldn't be a good fit in this market anyway!

I don't care about the clock. The Sox can afford anyone they want to keep.
