  1. He's a garbage manager who is more worried about his personal image than winning. What does he bring to the table aside from media presence? Nothing.
  2. Anyone but Valentine please.
  3. Yeah, it's be like an office manager standing up to the CEO and Board of Directors. They need someone who can follow their plan. I think some posters are either out of touch with reality or think the Sox are "sports entertainment" like the WWE.
  4. Not a hit to the head either IMO.
  5. Concussion, really? It was so bad that he stayed late to talk to the press and call Lucic a POS. Miller is a crybaby. He didn't have a concussion. If Buffalo had a problem with it, they should have stepped up that game.
  6. s***, 12/4 is only 3 weeks away!!!!!! What are they waiting for????????
  7. Really, he wanted to go to a bigger market. Really? Boston is ranked 5th Philly is 4th Not really much of a jump.
  8. Is it still November, Chicken Little?
  9. Managing skills and 3rd base coaching skills don't overlap all that much. A great 3rd base coach could be a horrible manager. A great manager could be a horrible 3rd base coach. LOL emoticons
  10. More hyperbole, how surprising...
  11. Funny because I bet Sveum could make all the posters here look like mental midgets when it comes to baseball. Honestly, I enjoyed GoBruins2010-2011 more than some of the newer posters.
  12. I don't think players care who the coach is. It doesn't really prevent FA signings.
  13. After seeing the press conference, it's clear Paps didn't want to come back. Can't really blame Cher-bear.
  14. Contract year + Ortiz eyedrops
  15. His average will really fluctuate as he gets older, breaks down more, and loses bat speed. He'll be a part time player in 3 years (excluding injury).
  16. FYI, Valentine would be the ultimate lackey. No thanks. I'd rather Alomar or Pena, but am ok with Sveum. Managing isn't the same as coaching 3rd. Dale has great leadership abilities.
  17. Yeah, you take that Ryan Madson you jerk!
  18. Idk, there are a ton of people on here who haven't been through bad times. This year sucked, but it was better than some of the 90's teams. 2001 team was worse too.
  19. I'd do it. Always injured and bad body type means little hope for a long career. Just don't see him as a real cleanup hitter. Very overrated IMO.
  20. 04 was the only year they had a complete pitching staff. Other years, it was more patchwork.
  21. He decided in 2010 that he'd retire after 2011. End of story. He got old and wasn't durable to begin with.
  22. Deleting a post just because the topic has been beaten to death for 3 years is silly. It's the offseason. Once ST comes, Drew will be a distant memory and no one will care. Posts only get banned if they're offensive or spam.
  23. LC, it worked for the Sox throughout the 00's.
  24. Don't worry guys. I just simmed the 2012 season with MVP 04 for Xbox and the Sox beat the Cubs 4-1 in the WS. Buehrle won the CY and had a dominant postseason. Looks like we need Scott Williamson to close this year! (I know some posters rag in the 03 bullpen, but Williamson/Embre/Timlin had a good postseason if I remember correctly.)
