Bailey is younger than Gagne and cost controlled. He was the best option available. Madson is overpriced and has less of a track record.

I never said it wasn't. I believe they are both in the wrong. I just see BV's act not playing out well. It could end up like the final act of his Mets tenure.

As you've stated in this thread previously, my job isn't the same as CC's. I won't be dressed down in front of my clients. So how does me returning my phone call factor into the equation. I don't have a guaranteed contract. I can be fired. CC can't. He has zero incentive to return the call.

It's not like they mortgaged the farm. I'm surprised the Sox didn't have to give up more than Reddick. Bailey is a proven commodity. You make that trade 99 times out of 100.

I'm a former AS making almost 10 times what my boss makes and have a contract that is twice as long. I have a guaranteed contract. I'm in no hurry to return a phone call I don't want to deal with. Period.

Should CC have called back? Yes. Should BV have kept his trap shut? Yes.

There's a difference between benching and doing a radio interview. Benching is a much more appropriate response. However, I'm not sure CC having telephonobia is at the level of benching.

I agree. They should be held to the fire. I'm just not sold on BV's way being "the right way."

That's chump change to them. They've spent 1.5B on payroll since they've been here. They aren't the little sisters of the poor. By building a new stadium, it increases the resale value of this team. An extra 10,000 seats does a lot for the bottom line as well.
