    He should have been traded in the offseason, but you're stuck with him now. Just ride out the contract.

    In hindsight, Masterson should have been used as a SP rather than a setup guy. They tried to make a run, but it didn't work out with VMart. Not too many people opposed the trade when it happened. This board would have been much better if you posted more this offseason imo.

    Neck and neck in what? MLB stats? Propect potential? Gabbard was pretty unheralded. The big pitching prospects were Paps and Lester. Gabbard had more in common with Davod Pauley. There were little to no expectations set for him. Sox sold high on him. I don't see anything wrong with that.

    His rotation and bp is already set. I heard he's working on the lineups for May though. What a slacker! In all honesty, it will be interesting to see how/if his lineups differ from Tito's.

    Pedroia doesn't want to hit 1st. Hitting Ells 1st is wasting his production. He set a record for RBIs as a leadoff hitter. He would have had a lot more had he hit 3rd.

    The difference between 1st and 2nd is about 15 AB's. Over 15 plate appearances, the difference between CC and Pedroia is immaterial to the season.

    I agree. The outrage over chicken and beer was dumb and masked the real problems last year. I could care less. It's a silly PR move imo.

    So if they win the division, will everyone be sprayed with champagne and Bud Lite still? Seems weird that it's ok to glorify the tradition at one point, but say it's wrong elsewhere. I know that at the end of tax season, I'm not covered in horrible beer in my office.

    He seems like more and more of a short term manager. No way is he here in 2014. You need to walk the line as a manager. Tito was too far to the left. Bobby is too far to the right.

    The problem wasn't Beckett and Lester's actions in the clubhouse, it was that they completely let themselves go and got fat. They needed to be held accountable for not being in shape. The beer and fried chicken was a symptom, not the disease.

    I've watched more ST practice footage than in year's past. First game is Friday? Can't wait for April!

    I really know next to nothing about Bogaerts. Will pay more attention this year though. With MVP Jr here, I'm going to make more of an effort to see some minor league games this summer.
