  1. There's no f'n way... Is there?
  2. Not surprising as he struggled mightily at the beginning of the season. Lavs wasn't called up until after Buch turned his season around.
  3. Drew is 7, Ross is 3
  4. If anyone cares: @JennyDellNESN: Checked @RedSox site-changed #'s: @Middlebrooks 16, Gomes 5, @dnavs33 29, Iglesias 10, Ciriaco 23, @RyanLavarnway 20, Tazawa 36, Doubront 35
  5. And yet your crystal ball is saying none of the prospects will be as good as Sanchez (a prospect we dumped btw).
  6. Trade for an ace. Figure out the rest from there. Without a true #1, this team will always be an "also-ran." No combination of Sanchez, Jackson, Buerhle, Johnson, Dempster, and Kuroda would change that.
  7. Did John Lackey improve the pitching staff here? This team needs less mediocre pitchers and more frontline starters. Sanchez is a 3-4. We have enough of those already...
  8. Doesn't matter. Throwing away money on 4 year contracts is just as bad.
  9. Why couldn't they be?
  10. This is basically the thought process that gave us such great contracts as Lackey, Crawford, Cameron, etc. Signing some shmo just for the sake of spending money is not how responsible teams build their organization.
  11. Then the answer is nobody. Thank you, sir.
  12. Yes, Dojji.
  13. What young players were showcased last year? Lavs showed he could catch. Iggy showed he still can't hit. Pedro (not a prospect) showed he could sub when needed. Tazawa pitched great. Gomez (not a prospect) showed he's a marginal talent. It's not like Brentz, JBJ and Xander were getting reps.
  14. Even with Pedro being a super-sub, I think they carry a 5th OF.
  15. s***, Lavs is more defensively ready than Salty. Once Napoli is signed, Salty will be shown the door. It'll be a 50/50 Ross/Lavs split until Lavs starts hitting.
  16. It's not set, but who else would be the 5th OF?
  17. I just think it's interesting that LL wanted deep depth, but Nava will still be suiting up. I just don't see the FO accomplishing what they set out to.
  18. John Tomase's greatest nightmare...
  19. He'll be on the 25 man roster, Fred. Prepare yourself now.
  20. I'm pretty sure I'll be spending more time at McCoy Stadium than Fenway this season. Cheaper, easier to get to, same on field product.
  21. Looks like TS is getting its wish. I'm ok with it as he can play above average OF at all 3 spots. He showed that he belonged in 2010. I hope he can return to form. He could be a decent platoon with Gomes if he could stay healthy.
  22. Can't believe this guy will be on the opening day roster...
  23. I want no part of Abreu or that fat ass Lee. If you want replacement level production, might as well pencil in Gomez and save the roster spots.
  24. You're forgetting about the all important Mystery Team! They may even go 3 years on Napoli!
  25. The upside on Lackey is nil. He should compete for a spot. If he doesn't earn a spot, they need to move on from this disaster.
