    Excuses excuses... This team flat out sucks. The only bad luck involved is me being born into a Red Sox family.

    All well and good, but their defense has been fine up the middle. The problem isn't "young guys in the middle of the defense" but rather old guys underperforming and young guys not hitting to their perceived potential. If Betts, Xander and Swihart were playing LF, 3b and 1b, it would still be the same issue. The only defensive hole is in the corner OF spots.
