    Also, I'm glad Swihart took the blame. It shows leadership that he'll throw himself under the bus when it's obvious that the pitcher flat out stinks.

    Maybe Kelly kind of sucks. Maybe the coaches can only do so much to help a struggling player. I've seen players run through more Butterfield signs than Butterfieldmake poor calls.

    Panda's issues against LHP and lackluster regular season stats are not that surprising. Ortiz getting older is not surprising. Hanley getting an injury is not surprising especially that he looks like an OLB now. Catching was an automatic offensive black hole. Pedroia will never be 2008 Pedroia again. Xander is still a WIP. Betts was not a sure thing. The starting staff was underwhelming on paper. The mediocre performance is largely due to the FO imo.

    Sox don't need to playgames like holding a prospect back due to money. They aren't the Rays.
