    A lot of Swihart's value is having his offensive ceiling at a normally weak offensive position like C. I would rather him rotate 1b and C rather than him play 1b fulltime.

    @jtomase: Regarding rumored three-way deal between Cubs, Red Sox, and Padres, an official from one of the teams involved says a trade is unlikely. Tomase still sucks though.

    Every source I've read says the Sox are "quietly" shopping for cost controlled pitcher. It's not a bad thing that nothing substantial is getting leaked. I don't remember hearing about the 2012 trade before it went down.

    I agree. At this point, no one on the coaching staff deserves a contract for this year.

    It seemed like they had a strategy up until they re-signed Drew last year. After that point, they've been vomiting all over themselves. We can say "fire Ben and Farrell" all we want, but nothing will change if the directives have been all coming down from an out of touch ownership. I think Werner and Lucchino are detrimental to this team. I think Henry is too distracted by everything else has has going on (newspaper, soccer, racing, etc.) to give the Sox the proper oversight.
