  1. Also, Happy Birthday to Sox legends: Nomar Garciaparra, Ray Scarborough, Strick Shofner, Matt Hall and Chase Meidroth.
  2. Ruth was moved in the offseason. According to the guy I bought my last mattress from, the trade was Jeff Bagwell for Phil Plantier. I was so confused as to where he came up with that nonsense. He said his family used to nanny for someone in the Bagwell family or something. At least the mattress has worked out ok so far (Prana, FYI).
  3. Everyone has signed except for the 20th rounder Garrison Sumner. They can go up to about $183k for him.
  4. You want him to have a short and terrible career? Get injured? Why? What's the point in holding ill will after a player leaves? It's over. Turn the page.
  5. Secret sauce: everyone needs to be kinder to one another

  7. Have you met our GM's since 2002?
  8. Overpay for a 4.64 starter. Where do I sign up? High BB/9. High HR/9. High BABIP (same rate as '21, '23). Low LOB%. Gets barreled like he's playing Donkey Kong (12th percentile). He's a two pitch pitcher (88% slider or 4 seam) and the FB has a negative run value. When he's putting it all together, it's great to watch. He can fall apart really quickly though. Not worth an overpay for only 2 months.
  9. And they need to see if they fall apart and need to deal half their roster on the 31st.
  10. Prior to his TJS, he wasn't good in MLB (he was projected to be and rushed through the minors). Since coming back, he's only pitched 140 innings of high quality ball. It's not a track record I can really trust TBH. Maybe he's a #2 or even better? I just haven't personally seen him pitch and am only going by his FanGraphs, bref and Savant pages. I'd be more comfortable with Ryan than Bubic, but there's a very good chance that Bubic is better than Ryan. Ryan is more of a known commodity and I believe the Sox could really make a run with him and Crochet.
  11. Henry maybe made the decision to go lighter on payroll and not sign Schwarber, BUT THEY STILL ENDED UP GOING OVER THE LUX TAX in 2022! I would have rather done so with Schwarber on board.
  12. Cheering for the Red Sox in a Red Sox forum... How could we let this happen?!?!?
  13. Cabrera, Alcantara and Gallen aren't guys you pair with Crochet for a stretch run this year. They each have individual issues that would involve tweaks to getting them to becoming #2's. I'd have Bello and maybe even Giolito in front of them at this point. The only guy that has been a good pairing with Crochet would be Ryan.
  14. "We can't pay two DH's! What are we billionaires made of money?!?!?" I believe that was the argument at the time.
  15. This is the one matchup I liked. Bats need to really show up though. Gio has been on a hot streak. Luzardo has been really up and down with some disastrous starts. Only 2 games over 5 IP in his last 6 starts. Their bullpen is rested though (last in MLB in IP).
  16. Red Sox have a .500 win % when Bregman is on the active roster. 🤬 Maybe Manfred can do the right thing and finally suspend those HOU players.
  17. I don't see him moving Bregman around. That guy's ego must be the size of the Titanic! Just like what he's doing to the Sox W/L %! 😎
  18. He moves guys around, because the team he has isn't that good and the construction of it is poor. He wasn't really doing that when he had really good players in 2018. Now he's been given roster with 6 OFers, which is wild. He isn't going to have these guys languish on the bench, so he's trying to figure out how to fit them in. He is also trying to play everyone as much as possible prior to the trade deadline so that opposing scouts can see them.
  19. Jhostynxon: 2 taters Johanfran: walkoff tater
  20. Glad I could convince you! 😎 I hope Devers has a long fruitful career in SF and that the Sox win a bunch of championships without him.
  21. He wasn't the only one. There were Sox scouts that had liked Masa for a while. Those scouts were still with the team at least through last season. IDK if they were purged post audit.
  22. Good starters and rough pitching matchups. This was going to be a pretty tough series for them.
