    I think they'll start the season with him in the org. They try to add a #2. They will hold onto him early on, but unload him if he's a disaster.

    King's 4 seamer was one of the worst pitches in all of baseball last season (800 SLG against, not OPS, just SLG). I'd be very hesitant to bring him in with that QO attached. He also had a few injury issues last year including a shoulder injury that kept him out for 2+ months.

    Because he came back when he was still injured. He needs an offseason to fully recover. Will he have recurring injuries due to his age? Probably.

    You missed where I said 801. His best year, when he hit 856, was when he had his best 2 strike approach.

    The Sox look at Hamilton and see a Dansby Swanson-esque fielder (rangy, bad arm). If Swanson could put up good metrics at SS, maybe Hamilton could too. I don't think Sogard could even put up average metrics over a full season.

    Sogard is a fairly decent switch hitter, so he can go against LHP. I think I'd rather him play SS than Romy. Romy seems like strictly a right side of the IF guy to me (bad range, bad arm).

    We've seen some NPB guys really pop and the price wouldn't include a QO.

    Romy? I'm going to agree with the Sox that I think Hamilton could figure it out for a short spurt at SS. His arm is just pretty bad.

    Wink has no options and has pushed back against direction from development. I'd send him to the moon.

    The only year his OPS was above 801 was when he didn't have a putrid looking k %. Just have him be less passive with 2 strikes.

    He has gone through a lot of players, but also likes to platoon guys.

    Suarez or Imai could be the best available. Woodruff came back really strong. He still has TOTR stuff. Those would be the 3 guys I'd want to bring in. King had a down year and was offered a QO, so I'd pass on him if it's only a 2 year deal. No way on Imanaga with his QO. I'm not a fan of Cease or Valdez.

    Gallen was a TOTR guy a few years ago, but his stuff hasn't been the same for a while now. He is not worth the QO and probably doesn't have #2 upside anymore. He can still give you innings, but is more like a 2 WAR guy going forward. We want a guy that is better than Bello and Gallen is probably about Bello's level TBH.

    Prior to the trade, he could flat out hit. He had multiple leg injuries (both hamstrings) in '24 and never came back from it. Braves lucked out on the timing with that guy.

    He was very excited to start Kiké at SS in '23! There's a difference between platooning guys and churning through a bad roster. He likes platooning guys and showcasing a player's strength. I don't think he seeks out churning through DFA'able players like he had to in '23-'24.

    I think Brezzz knows what the budget is and if he adds Gio at 22M, there isn't much room to add a #2. Gio isn't better than Bello and may not be much better than some of the other younger, cheaper options as well. I could find something better to do with 22M anyway.

    I also wouldn't put too much stock into how he was portrayed in the doc. Remember how they kinda made Wong into a villain and had a little story about Wong not calling the right pitches for Bello. Turns out, Bello said all year long in '25 how much he loved pitching to Wong and kept him as his personal caddy.

    Maybe Brezzz believes he'd accept the option and doesn't think he's worth 22M? Maybe he's worried about Gio's health? Not many guys have taken the QO.
