  1. Hanley has already been ruled out due to his shoulder, I thought.
  2. Ortiz was also much bigger than Devers.
  3. http://www.sbnation.com/2017/3/2/14790838/david-price-injury-dr-james-andrews-second-opinion So the best you can hope for is bone fragment surgery?
  4. It was a greater step down for AC/DC than it would be for the Sox.
  5. Found it. – While a lot has been made of Sandoval’s weight, perhaps the more pressing conditioning need right now is Rafael Devers. The 20-year-old has impressed with his bat in big league camp, but it would appear he needs to shed the pounds in order to be a viable third baseman (not first baseman) going forward. http://fullcount.weei.com/sports/boston/baseball/red-sox/2017/03/02/everything-you-need-to-know-about-red-sox-as-they-head-into-march/
  6. But where did he write it? I've looked at all his recent articles and twitter postings and didn't see it.
  7. Only one vote for David Price. Sad!
  8. Can I interest you in a Brian Johnson?
  9. And if Bradford really thought it was an issue, why not write about it here: http://www.weei.com/sports/boston/baseball/red-sox/rob-bradford/2017/02/23/want-know-who-red-sox-are-truly-placing-bets-
  10. And at a younger age, Devers is a flat out better hitter than Travis. Bradford isn't the greatest beat writer around either...
  11. Devers was the Sox MiLB defensive player of the year last year. What are you talking about?
  12. Looks like I won't be able to take Pedroia in the 1st round now...
  13. They already have 6 starters they are comfortable with and I don't think Fister would take a MiLB deal.
  14. Well, I hope ERod is able to build up his arm strength and not get injured. I know there were concerns about him being ready for opening day at one point. Worst case scenario is one of your starters going down so I'll just keep my fingers crossed. Abad is a serviceable, but not overly important part of the pen.
  15. Are they only Sox playing in the WBC Bogey and Hanley?
  16. Last year, only two catchers OPS'd above .830. Compare Swihart's minor league OPS (highest was .810) to Schwarber's (above 1.000 each year). I like Swihart, but some of the comments on here are crazy to me.
  17. I'd take Pom over Buch going forward.
  18. Is this true? Do some nations really care about this?
  19. I knew that he had an injury history and that he was on an unprecedented roll, but I'm not sure anyone could honestly say that they knew he was "damaged goods" at the time of the trade. They can point to his injury history, but that's about it.
  20. I can see him starting off in extended spring training if injured, but if he's healthy he is a sure lock for the opening day roster.
  21. I agree with your assesment. I think Hernandez may have a higher ceiling than Rutledge, but that they stick him in AAA for now.
  22. Power to the people. 1. Cheaper beer 2. Scheduled day/night doubleheaders 3. No blackouts for MLB tv 4. Robot umps 5. Get hype
