  1. He grew up playing 2b, 3b and SS. http://oncubamagazine.com/sports/yoan-moncada-new-cuban-baseball-wonder-boy/
  2. Beni should be the #2 hitter next year.
  3. No, the Sox throw a lot of money at payroll. They have let some large fish go because of analytics and foolishness, but overall they have no problem opening their wallets. They have redesigned and expanded an old, broken stadium, but that's because it is genuinely loved by the fanbase. The biggest issue the Sox have had is that there were too many cooks in the kitchen when it came time to bring in new players. Ownership seemed to want to have a hand in every decision for better or worse. That seems to have changed somewhat since they brought in the new GM.
  4. Common sense doesn't work with the hot take crowd.
  5. Yes you are. You are again trying to make an argument about something you've been ranting about since coming here.
  6. Shaw has been terrible lately so this isn't a big loss.
  7. Probably.
  8. I don't see how anyone would "overpay" on a guy who missed a whole season due to injury and wasn't all that impressive when he was playing full time.
  9. Roush Fenway Racing has been s*****, but who cares about that...
  10. John W. Henry, owner of the Boston Red Sox and of Fenway Sports Group, bid successfully for the club and took ownership in October 2010.[35] Poor results during the start of that season led to Hodgson leaving the club by mutual consent and former player & manager Kenny Dalglish taking over.[36] Despite a record 8th League Cup success against Cardiff and an FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea, Liverpool finished in eighth position in the 2011–12 season, the worst league finish in 18 years and led to the sacking of Dalglish.[37][38] He was replaced by Brendan Rodgers.[39] In Rodgers' first season, Liverpool finished in seventh. In the 2013–14 season, Liverpool mounted an unexpected title charge to finish second behind champions Manchester City and subsequently return to the Champions League, scoring 101 goals in the process, the most since the 106 scored in the 1895–96 season.[40][41] Following a disappointing 2014–15 season, where Liverpool finished sixth in the league, and a poor start to the 2015–16 season, Brendan Rodgers was sacked in October 2015.[42] He was replaced by Jürgen Klopp,[43] who became the third foreign manager in Liverpool's history.[44] In Klopp's first season at Liverpool, he took the club to the finals of both the Football League Cup and UEFA Europa League, finishing as runner-up in both competitions.[45] It's been up and down, pretty much like the Sox have been recently.
  11. There were better options last offseason, there will be better options this offseason. However, I don't think picking up the option precludes them from grabbing another FA arm or two. If they don't load up in the pen, they are fools.
  12. He was going through a tremendous change in his life. Moving from Cuba, learning English, having more money than he knew what to do with is harder than you guys give it credit for. To keep the transition comfortable, the left him at 2b until they felt his transition was completed smoothly. I can't fault them for this in the least. Once he's comfortable and hitting, then you can mess around with where he's playing. It hasn't hindered his development and he wouldn't have been up any sooner anyway. He'll have all offseason to workout at 3b. Similarly, didn't they leave Betts at 2b for awhile in the minors? That seemed to work out ok.
  13. So let's not talk about anything then...
  14. Everything is hindsight apparently...
  15. Kimbrel should have come in during the 8th for Tazawa, but couldn't because he was used in a non save situation last night. :/
  16. Robbie Ross Jr is the greatest.
  17. Miller is pretty good too.
  18. ps Hanley sux He is not good enough to DH next year something something
  19. You turned the season around with this meme! You're the best!
  20. It was the right move to make at the time! I don't remember you saying not to pinch run with Wright before he was injured!
  21. It's not humid or raining. Wright should be fine.
  22. The fact that the Basabes switched numbers this preseason just to mess with people makes me a little warm on the inside, but sad that they will never be able to do it again.
  23. You can never have too many Luis A Basabes. I prefer redundancy in Luis A Basabes.
  24. So "the best" but not as good as the Yankees, but may as good as the Giants?
