  1. In a sea of mediocrity and worse, Finn is great.
  2. I agree. While I don't really care about HFA, I just wish they didn't completely limp through the final week. They're in. I'm happy.
  3. The team has a wonderful history of heartbreaks at home and on the road. The team also has a wonderful history of tremendous wins at home and on the road. Hard to really say that there is more heartbreak at home than on the road or more success on the road than at home.
  4. And still letting his mom make him get haircuts.
  5. The Cubs fans would deserve it, honestly.
  6. Not to disagree, but: 1986 was lost at Shea. 2003 was lost at Yankee Stadium. 2004 featured huge home wins in the ALCS. The 2007 ALCS featured home wins in games 6 and 7. 2008 ALCS was lost at Tropicana. Sox had a pretty memorable few games at Fenway in 2013 ALCS and World Series if memory serves me correctly...
  7. To me, the thought process was probably "we could get Espinoza back, but there's a chance the Pomeranz can pitch for the rest of the year during this stretch run. It's too late to trade for another starter now and we really need all the help we can get with this rotation." If they were offered this remedy prior to the deadline, I bet they would have reversed the trade. We'll never really know though. It will be oh so enjoyable to talk about this for the next decade or so.
  8. Curse of the haircut... Season is over...
  9. Is he on the shelf? Didn't he just pitch yesterday?
  10. We get to look forward to Pablo blocking out the sun again in ST.
  11. What's the difference? The trade was in July. The trade deadline was August. This didn't happen until later. I answered Kimmi's question in a fair manner. Another poor white knight attempt by our resident fedora owner. Sad!
  12. No this was after trade deadline.
  13. @brianmacp Manfred: The Red Sox were offered the opportunity to rescind the Pomeranz-Espinoza trade, but they declined.
  14. The true loss today is Beni's hair...
  15. Walk is unacceptable. The wild pitch is on Vazquez. Get your s*** together.
  16. 52 innings, 29 BB's, 1.096 WHIP
  17. I believe Vegas has give Ortiz the best odds to win the MVP. Not sure how well Vegas has faired previously.
  18. Who?
  19. http://deadspin.com/john-farrell-to-sassy-fan-why-dont-you-shut-your-ass-1787278066 I guess he can stay a little while longer.
  20. I'd leave Kelly off the roster for that horrible showing the other day. Giving up a grand slam walk off against the MFY? That's inexcusable. It just shows that he's too busy preening on the mound with his hipster glasses and wasn't focused on the game. I noticed that within five minutes of giving up the walkoff, he was in camo short and a black tee full on ready for champagne. It frankly disgusts me. Shows that he wasn't bothered one bit by the HR. He should be left off the postseason roster. No confidence in him at all.
  21. I don't care about HFA. I want my players well rested. It's been a long season.
  22. I'm impressed with how well he knows Kimbrel's psychological state.
  23. And I wasn't making an excuse, I was just making an explanation for why his performance dipped. He has struggled in low pressure situations all year. Last night was no different. edit: And it's NOT acceptable no matter what the cause.
  24. That name doesn't bother me.
