  1. More anonymous sources. Good stuff. I really dig Farrell's quote: "At the time when we did meet, which was down in Texas, as I mentioned, and then again in the ballpark there,” Farrell said. “I’m aware that people reached out to him the morning after the incident when we were headed in to Toronto. So, knowing that that was in place, you know, I followed with my conversations with Eck as I’ve always done. They’ve been cordial, there’s been professional respect on both side and I think my relationship with him is positive in a professional way.” Farrell is the worst. What a lump of nothing. So much word salad.
  2. The Pedroia issue is as follows: WEEI is saying Pedroia isn't involved with sources from people at the altercation The Sports Hub/CSNNE is saying Pedroia is involved with sources from people at the altercation Maybe WEEI is trying to downplay the story as they don't want their Sox ratings to go down even further? Maybe CSNNE is just trying to push this story since they don't broadcast the Sox? This story just kinda blows. If Price had just spoken to Eck like a professional, this all wouldn't have happened.
  3. Yup, which is why they need a stronger leader than Farrell. I have no problem with players bitching at beat reporters as it's easy to just not read the paper. Taking on the broadcasters is a bit much for me.
  4. Yup, the 25 man roster. Don't dare say "yuck" about a bad performance of theirs!
  5. Where's the second report? I don't see a retraction on CSNNE.
  6. Yes, they were all on the plane. It was a chartered plane for the Sox and NESN.

  8. If Young wasn't so miserable this year, he'd take those LHP ab's away from Beni.
  9. And we can add in the ever so lovable Pedroia as a co-conspirator since he was one of the guys rooting on Price. Great... Fire Farrell.
  10. It's in their job description, it's just not what's in what they believe to be their job description. If that makes sense? They can do something about it, but either don't care or don't want to step on ownership toes.
  11. The league office isn't going to anything about this. It's not in their purview.
  12. Yeah, where both those sites puts players is weird sometimes. ESPN has Swihart as LF and MLB has him at C.
  13. If he finishes the year strong and has a monster ST, he could wind up in Boston. It all depends on what DD does in the offseason though.
  14. Nope, because Shaugnessy says a lot of stupid s*** just to provoke a reaction. Eck said nothing noteworthy and deserves to be treated better.
  15. @redsoxstats Defensive Runs Saved 1. 25 Mookie Betts 2. 18 Byron Buxton 3. 17 Jedd Gyorko 4. 16 Andrelton Simmons 5. 16 Nolan Arenado Mookie is just the best.
  16. Maybe if it was Beni OR Xander plus the rest?
  17. Alonso > Bruce > Duda > Granderson, but they are all LHB. They need a big RHB, but I'm not sure a guy like that is really available right now.
  18. If I'm a "smaller market" ballclub, I'm definitely reaching out to his agent this offseason. He'd be cheap and if he does over-perform, you could spin him off to a contender at the deadline.
  19. Threw the first punch? What are you talking about? All he said was "yuck" to a nightmare performance by ERod in AAA.
  20. Eck is a color guy, not a beat writer. He doesn't really need a good rapport with the players as he's not going into the clubhouse for interviews. All he said was "yuck." Your comment about Eck no longer travelling with the team is uninformed. He generally wasn't travelling with the team beforehand due to personal issues. If you think the organization is rallying around Price, you're on the wrong side of history.
  21. Steve Selsky is on it.
  22. Ben insisted they shouldn't trade him last offseason?
  23. In September, he'll either earn a spot for next year's bench or will earn a AAAA qualifier. He could have a very similar career path to Brandon Moss who also blossomed as a 28 year old.
  24. Vargas hasn't had a QS over his past 3 outings. He's definitely cooling off.
  25. Maybe. Seeing that neither the SeaDogs nor the PawSox will be in the playoffs, there isn't a reason to have him on one roster over the other.
