  1. Kimmi has no problem arguing with anyone else. Don't see what the big deal is here. I value Kimmi's opinion as much as anyone else.
  2. How many fans really care about saves though?
  3. Ignoring the tax limit, they need a bat like EE. Including the tax limit, it's ok that they didn't grab him this offseason. They need to fill that hole eventually though.
  4. Runs per game are up to 5.5 since Devers played his first game. For the year, the Nats are 2nd in runs per game at 5.4. It would still be nice to go back in time and win a few extra games in April - June. The more cushion this team has, the more likely they'll make the postseason.
  5. It doesn't matter who specifically said it. It was said often enough. Now that he's crushing HR's off 103 mph FB's, maybe we should stop bickering about needing patience for Devers and just say that he's pretty f***ing good.
  6. Our offense is what it is. Saying "well it should have been better because of reasons" doesn't feel like a very good argument. The offense hasn't performed well, because the offense might not be very good without a big bat anchoring it.
  7. I know what batting order is. Doesn't the manager have a say in the batting order of the team that gets put on the field? Isn't that something that fans can have a say about for various reasons? She's definitely stretching logic by saying caring about saves is the same as caring about batting order.
  8. It is the team that gets put on the field. Maybe I should have said "lineup construction" rather than team construction?
  9. This offense definitely needed EE. 24th in SLG 26th in HR 20th in TB 17th in OPS
  10. How Workman is used down the stretch is a big indication of Farrell's ability to manage his bullpen.
  11. There's a big difference between valuing an arbitrary statistic and valuing how a team is constructed.
  12. It's really the only reason they didn't sign him. Henry wanted to reset the tax he's paying. Can't blame DD for that.
  13. Bogaerts is playing poorly now. I'm not sure that part is up for debate. His OPS since the AS Break is 475. He's also been dealing with an injured wrist. If Pedey wasn't dealing with the Machado injury, maybe Xander would be getting much needed rest. I just don't understand handwringing over Xander not being a power hitter. Not every guy needs to hit 20 HR's a year.
  14. Bogaerts isn't a HR hitter. HR's aren't the only value you can add when at the plate.
  15. And the "realistic" expectation was that Devers shouldn't be in Boston in 2017. People doubting Devers were wrong then and they're wrong now.
  16. It's more important to be buddies with everyone else in MLB than to be healthy enough to play on the field.
  17. He won't be back for a while. Hard to DH from the DL. Pedroia's greatest value is his defense at 2B.
  18. Benny Benny Benny Benny
  19. Panic HR, honestly.
  20. OOB champs 2017
  21. "Farrell said the outs on the bases are glaring, but it's a means to an end and they'd rather put pressure on opposing defenses."
  22. I think the ump has treated both teams the same. He just has a s***** k zone.
  23. Reed->Barnes->Kimbrel
