1st-rder Tanner Houck signs w/@RedSox for $2,614,500 (pick 24 value). Missouri RHP, can run FB up to 98 from low slot tough on RHH @MLBDraft
I don't understand why Beni and Moncada skipped AAA last year, but Devers can't this year. Devers is a more complete player than Moncada is. There are no issues with defense or excessive k's.
I sent a lot of positive energy his way during ST and the early part of the season. He's played ok, but the ongoing injuries make it unrealistic that the Sox can get anything for him. May as well just eat the contract at this point.
He has some interesting things to say, but his lack of personality ruins it for me. He's not good tv. He's not entertaining. He'd be great to sit next to at a game though.
The pecking order is completely arbitrary to begin with. There's always going to be idiots like me who will put a popular option at the bottom of a list.
It's like those people that think Sgt Peppers is better than Pet Sounds. You just pet them on the head, tell them that you value their opinion and just move on with your day knowing that their entire belief system is wrong.
Because you should trade someone when they are at the height of their value.
DFA Buchholz - good call
Fire Farrell - good call as he would have been replaced by Lovullo who is doing great in AZ
Trade Pedroia - good call as he's only going to get worse here on out and that contract is no longer worth it
Whoever wrote that article shouldn't be paid for what they are putting out. Horrible.
An ear infection is no joke though. Maybe he got if from all the time spent in the training room tub.
And because of the way he plays, I think he's going to deal with even more injuries and missed time as he gets older. He's playing like he did in 2014 and I just think this may be a long term trend for him.
I don't hate the guy. I don't want to run him out on a rail. I just don't think he's anything more than an average 2B going forward.
