  1. How can you look at that and say he's consistent. He with 3 months below .700 and 3 above .900! That's not consistency, that's Mr Toad's Wild Ride.... Yes, Bogey IS INJURED. I'm sure if you it suited your argument you would have noted that. Pedroia hit .500 after coming off the DL. OMG! JBJ has high highs and low lows. It's a fact.
  2. @darren_hartwell Fenway Park has seen the least homers in the AL this season at 89. No other ballpark is under 100.
  3. Ockimey promoted to Portland.
  4. ESPN: Chris Sale is dominating on the mound this season, to the tune of a 13-4 record, a 2.37 ERA and 211 strikeouts in 148 1/3 innings. On Tuesday night, the Boston Red Sox left-hander will attempt to beat a team he has not been able to dominate during his career when he takes on the Cleveland Guardians in the second game of a three-game series at Fenway Park. Sale is 82-47 with a 2.93 ERA lifetime against the other teams in the major leagues. However, he is just 5-7 with a 4.07 in 27 career appearances (16 starts) against Cleveland, a division rival when Sale was with the Chicago White Sox. Last season, Sale defeated the Guardians as part of his 9-0 start. But then on May 24, 2016, he was raked for seven hits and six earned runs in 3 1/3 innings to take his first loss of the season. MLB: Sale.. is arguably on his hottest streak of the season, twirling three scoreless starts since the All-Star break. His scoreless streak of 20 2/3 innings is currently the longest in the Majors. As for his first season in Boston, the All-Star has already etched his name into the Red Sox's record books. Sale is the second Red Sox pitcher with 14 or more double-digit strikeout games in a season. Pedro Martinez achieved the mark twice while with Boston.
  5. Maybe less of a fluke than Big Dick Rick's 2016?
  6. He already had his hot streak this year. Not sure he's allowed to have two.
  7. http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/rosters/_/sort/average_height/order/true Sox are 10th tallest in the league.
  8. Gray is short in stature. Only 5'10". We need taller players! No thank you!
  9. Great, now I gotta go google Porter's Lodge.
  10. Yup, Ben was a boob who should not be given any credit for the 2012 CC/Beckett/Agon dump as that was a "John Henry" move. Ahh, the good ol' days. There hasn't been an entertaining fight on here in a long time. Although, it's nice to not have to constantly read nonsense about guys like Carlos "Hi Ho" Silva. When you are complaining about guys that won't even make an opening day roster, you should probably just log off.
  11. http://www.fangraphs.com/statsplits.aspx?playerid=5401&position=P&season=2017 Brad Peacock has been really f***ing good this year. LOL
  12. I keep forgetting to google this when I'm not on my work computer.
  13. As always, a "panic move" is any move that a poster doesn't agree with. I don't think the Sox have made any panic moves this year. The last potential panic move was the deal for Pomeranz, but that was a move strictly to get Ortiz one last playoff run. Too bad he didn't pitch last year the way he is doing now.
  14. Well, the original plan should always be "if a guy is mashing in MiLB" bring him up.
  15. That's a Farrell issue.
  16. Over 140 games in 5 of last 6? Nope. 2015 - 93 games. 2014 - 135 games. He had serious injuries in 2010 and 2015. Time will tell how many games he ends up with this year.
  17. Devers is OPSing 1.231 with the big club. His soft contact % is only 10.5. He's been worth $4.7M in his first 6 games. If we still had the old site, there'd be a Devers emoticon by now.
  18. Good thing they traded for Nunez! Sheesh...
  19. http://www.masslive.com/redsox/index.ssf/2017/07/dustin_pedroia_injury_second_b.html#incart_river_index Dustin Pedroia missed his third straight game on Monday and has played just 85 of 107 games this year as he manages an ailing left knee. Red Sox manager John Farrell admitted that a stint on the disabled list for Pedroia is not out of the question. Pedroia, who had offseason knee surgery, aggravated the knee on a collision in Baltimore with Manny Macado in April, but Farrell said the overall volume of play has Pedroia down. "The problem for Dustin is and will be, he has a bad knee," Dombrowski said. "He's had it for years, he's going to have to deal with that and he does, he works very hard, the training staff works very hard on it. John works with him and tries to give him days when he needs to. That's something we're going to have to deal with for extended time periods.
  20. Price to 60 day DL. Fister DFA'd.
  21. That's fine. Abad and Scott are still better against LHB though. Abad gets a lot of crap around here and by the Boston Media. He's been good this year.
  22. Pedroia has a lengthy history of playing through injuries and trying to be a gamer. My only wonder is if other Sox are doing the same thing? It's a long season and I don't think other players get the same credit that Pedroia does when he dealing with a thumb or a knee or whatever. Xbo was playing with a banged up wrist. Betts and Nunez both ran hard into the wall in the past few games. Now that they have a real super utility guy in Nunez, they need to give all their regulars a good amount of rest down the stretch. If they make the playoffs, they'll need everyone to be healthy. I will definitely not contribute to the conspiracy that talking to the media (ala Price and Pedroia) gets you put directly on the DL and away from fans.
  23. Nope. http://www.fangraphs.com/statsplits.aspx?playerid=10586&position=P&season=2017 http://www.fangraphs.com/statsplits.aspx?playerid=4994&position=P&season=2017 Abad is has a .520 OPS against LHB, Reed has .656. In 2015, Smith had a .588 OPS against LHB and he's injured right now. Abad needs to be on this team. In fact, Robby Scott should probably be on the team too (.470 OPS vs LHB).
  24. "He looks so good in that uniform!" - Way too many scouts these days
  25. Sale vs Carrasco
