  1. He should be, of course. However, the 1b coach should be aware of every situation and be communicating to all base runners. I'm not letting JBJ off the hook. I think that play was indicative of a much larger problem.
  2. So if my staff accountant doesn't pay the rent on the first of the month, should I blame the lack of payment on her when the landlord calls even if I remember not signing any rent checks? NOT MY JOB! I just sign the checks. No reason to walk into the finance office and say "hey, where's the rent invoices for this month." NOT MY JOB!
  3. Not my jobism. That's a great thing to have for a 1st base coach. I'm just going to sit over here and be mute. No reason for me to talk to the base runners. Doo doo doo.
  4. The 1b coach doesn't seem to be too concerned about it. It's not his job! These guys do it way too often (Pedroia and Xbo) and the coaching staff hasn't made the point clear that there is almost never a reason to slide into 1st, unless you are avoiding a tag.
  5. Oh yeah, I didn't pull the fire alarm because it's not my job. Sorry! The secretary should have done that. She knows better!
  6. He shouldn't HAVE TO, but he still should have done it. Otherwise, what is he there for? Batting glove holder?
  7. Count me out of that list. f*** that guy.
  8. All dummy had to do was say, "Jackie, run through the bag."
  9. http://www.csnne.com/boston-red-sox/boston-red-sox-david-prices-return-will-be-gradual-john-farrell-says David Price resumed throwing Tuesday, playing catch for the first time since he went to the disabled list with left elbow inflammation on Friday. How quickly the lefty can get back on a mound and in a game is not clear, but it seems safe to assume it’ll take at least a couple weeks before he’s back with the Sox. “Twenty five throws at 60 feet,” Sox manager John Farrell said. “Would look to maybe increase the distance of that tomorrow. But this will be a gradual building back out to tolerance. But felt good enough today to put a ball back in his hand, so an encouraging day.” Farrell said on Friday that he was hopeful Price would play catch Monday or Tuesday, so he seems to be moving at an expected pace. The bullpen, meanwhile, could get another lift this weekend, when Joe Kelly could return from the disabled list. He’s to start a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday. Carson Smith is to face hitters on Thursday and could begin his own rehab assignment on the weekend. Maybe a September return for Price? We'll have to see. Good news about Kelly coming back. Smith is still an unknown commodity and can't be relied on yet.
  10. Exhibit B for that stupid triple play earlier in the year.
  11. He'd be good in the studio, but he's dreadful in a two man booth.
  12. Here's what I wrote back in May: Now: 4/1 - 6/8 245 BABIP and 741 OPS 6/9 - 7/4 429 BABIP and 1032 OPS 7/5 - 8/1 283 BABIP and 520 OPS It looks like he's already had his one great month for the year. If that is a mark of consistency, I don't know what to say. To me, he'll always be a guy that is a very medicore to poor hitter who can get as hot as the sun for a one month stretch. When he's hot, he should be hitting at the top of the lineup. Right now, he should be batting 9th.
  13. Well, Pedroia was still in the dugout, so I'm sure he's still throwing his weight around. I'm not sure that Moreland was standing at home in the 9th thinking "I shouldn't run because Pedroia is the 2b tonight. No wait, he's not playing. I should run!"
  14. 1.214 OPS through first 7 games. He has reached base each game. No big deal.
  15. Vazquez has been on fire since the start of the Royals series. It's nice to not have automatic outs 7-9.
  16. Porcello vs Bauer
  17. No matter what you think about Pedroia, if he's out for longer than a 10 day stint, it'll be bad news for the Sox.
  18. So he's not desperate then?
  19. Miller gives up a tater. Allen struggled terribly and gave up the lead. Suddenly the Guardians don't have a good bullpen anymore!
  20. First DAMN place!
  21. Iortiz, I hope you dance to Tessie tonight!!!!
  22. Holy f***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Devers, don't slide into 1st!!!!!!!
  24. Is a 4.00 WHIP good?
