  1. If Mayer is a starter on Opening day, there's a good chance one of those guys would be on your playoff starting roster again. Unsure about the health luck with Breggie/Anthony/Abreu/Story or others.
  2. I wasn't the guy talking, it was Cora. 🫠
  3. The 2025 BOS DH numbers included the last 90 games. Why would we exclude Devers if we are looking at comparing year to year?
  4. JH won't give Skubal a blank check.
  5. Red Sox really going for that 2025 STL feel.
  6. How does Vientos/Tong make the Sox better?
  7. 2025 BOS DH: 125 wRC+ (6th in MLB), 33 HR, 97 RBI, 97 R You think a combination of Masa, Casas and Romy will do better than that?
  8. They should part with some pitching, but not SP1 who is controllable for 4 more years.
  9. Had a feeling he may not be re-signing once Cora started talking up Eaton's splits this offseason.
  10. All the other orgs that were laughing at the Sox at the time of Masa's signing were right to do so.
  11. Why on Bo? Age. Why on Breggie? More confident on what he brings to the org after previous direct experience.
  12. Whether they trade or eat 90% of his contract, it's not a big difference to me.
  13. I'm fine with both in a vacuum if there's a legit plan for 2b or 3b. Schwarber doesn't make sense roster-wise because they still have Masa lingering. Alonso's contract will age very poorly. Will they just sign Bo and move Mayer to 3b? Will they re-sign Breggie and hope for health luck over the next 5+ years? Trade for Donovan and run out a very weak lineup?
  14. None of the above guys are listed on FanGraphs tracker of about 275 top FA's.
  15. They've signed a few MiLB guys. Osvaldo Berrios Vinny Capra Alec Gamboa
  16. It didn't used to be "wait until February for the pieces to be in place." It's very recent that we've had to wait way past Christmas to know what the majority of the team would look like. Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford were both on the Sox roster by December 10th in time for Winter Fest at Fenway (whatever the hell it was called back then). Most of the FA's would actually sign at the winter meetings. Now, everything has been pushed back. Don't be too mad at the fans who were used to the old calendar and liked to have their presents under the tree...
  17. They can option him until Masa's contract runs out. If he's really raking like 2023 and has no after effects of the injury, DFA Masa and bring Casas up. Easiest call in the world.
  18. The final pieces for this team could be the top quarter of the puzzle.
  19. God, I hope not. It's led to only an average of 84 wins over the past 10 seasons (2020 proration) and only two playoff appearances. Sox have averaged 88 wins even with the '20-'24 doldrums.
  20. DD didn't trade all his prospects (Devers, Beni) when he was here and hasn't done that with the Phillies. With the limited budget, he may be less apt to trade everything as he'd have to grow the team internally like when he was with the Expos.
  21. As a former external auditor, I don't trust anyone else's spreadsheets.
  22. The FO over there has been highly regarded. I wonder if the new ownership is doing a bit of tinkering because these moves are a little different than what they've done recently.
  23. At what point are they going to focus on a WS team?
  24. Do you think I have an Excel spreadsheet for everyone's takes on here? Be reasonable. Duran was brought up in trade discussions concerning Joe Ryan at the deadline. Ryan was discussed after the season ON HERE and Duran's name was included.
