  1. C'mon Jarren. That's barely a top 10 highlight these days... 🤬
  2. I think part of the Rule 5 crunch will be offseason deals of some of these young guys. Bleis Castro Hoppe Mullins Paez Sandlin Uberstine The likelihood of some of these guys to be picked is pretty low, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them get dealt. Players the Sox have lost in previous drafts: 2024 - Angel Bastardo 2023 - Shane Drohan (returned), Ryan Fernandez 2022 - Thaddeus Ward, Andrew Politi (returned), Noah Song (returned) Strong orgs get players taken. Sox will probably have another pitcher selected this year.
  3. Mullins's career notes from SP: Has battled injuries throughout his career. Was highly regarded out of high school, ranked as high as the top 50 in the 2019 draft class at times, but opted to attend Auburn after an injury-plagued senior spring caused his stock to fall. His sophomore and junior college seasons both ended prematurely due to injury, the latter resulting in Tommy John surgery. Did not make his professional debut until August 2023 after rehabbing from the procedure. Missed much of May 2025 with shoulder fatigue after an early-season promotion to Portland. This section is not usually just a download of injuries and reasoning as to why a guy has missed extended time.
  4. Mullins started this year in GRE and carries significant injury risk. I think they are intentionally going slow with him.
  5. I think when a tiny portion of us mentioned that Pivetta could get a QO, it was because he would either refuse and Sox would get compensation OR the worst is the Sox get a dependable back end guy for one more year. Most posters disagreed that the Sox would even consider giving him a QO. Ultimately, he signed for 4/55 which seems like a great deal to me. I wish the Sox did that instead of Buehler.
  6. That's not really what he said. What he said was that other teams were looking to trade for bats (Sox don't really have any in the org that are close to being ready) and that they value their pitchers more highly than outside evaluators. With what we've seen from Tolle and Early, maybe they should hold onto these young arms?
  7. Roberts wasn't the only acquisition that deadline... Going into the playoffs, he wasn't even listed in top 2 of importance.
  8. Are you really giving Breslow credit for obtaining Lowe off the waiver wire?
  9. That's not MY opinion. I think they just needed better 4/5 options. I didn't think they should have wasted their time trying to go for Ryan at all.
  10. In 290 Innings, Roman has put up 8 DRS/4 OAA in RF. I think he could capably take over for Abreu. If they moved on from Abreu instead of Duran, I don't think there's a big slippage in defense.
  11. He was really bad last season until the final 10 IP. I don't think everyone was sold on him.
  12. In years past, the Sox swooned and missed the playoffs. Not sure starting relievers (which they HAVE done) is a good comparison. Feel free to defend the DFA'd Buehler. I won't, but you can. Buehler's rank among starters with 100+ IP 2nd worst FIP 10th worst ERA 3rd worst HR/FB% 3rd worst BB/9 4th worst K/BB 5th worst WHIP WORST fWAR 7 QS ties Andrew Heaney who was also DFA'd
  13. We've said before "there's no way all these guys are still on the roster" and have seen offseasons come and go. Who know what the OF rotation looks like. I would say that two spots go should go to Rafaela and Anthony. I'm open to any other combination of guys after that.
  14. Trade Deadline didn't work out, but Sox are still winning for once. Ultimately, we may change our tune depending on how the playoffs end up.
  15. It's just what they need for the last few weeks of the season, not for the rest of is career. Plus, if he's in the bullpen, he can lean on his FB more and not have to worry about the pitch mix the Sox were tinkering with that caused his on field numbers to dip in AAA.
  16. He's a bad defender, but if his bat is good enough it'll play above Garcia.
  17. I'm not a Cease fan due to the high bb rate. Not sure what Bres thinks about him.
