  1. @TomCaron Dustin Pedroia told me he feels good after yesterday’s game. Another step forward. #redsox #springtraining #mlb
  2. @alexspeier Hernandez in the 3rd: Single, fielder’s choice, GIDP. 6 pitches, do a total of 15 pitches over his final 2 innings/6 batters. Again: all bad contact.
  3. And it's rare that they jump so quickly just to fall on their face.
  4. @alexspeier Cora said before the game that he expects (Darwinzon) Hernandez to be a big league contributor this year, with an ETA that is after Opening Day but before September.
  5. @PawSox Travis Lakins is ranked by @BaseballAmerica as the @RedSox no. 17 prospect. The @OhioStateBASE product enters today’s game against the @Orioles with 6 scoreless innings thrown in #GrapefruitLeague play. Lakins in 2018 with the PawSox- (1-0), 1.65 ERA, 16 IP, 0.98 WHIP #Milb
  6. @alexspeier Tzu-Wei Lin smokes a double to LF. He’s gone from a player who sprayed grounders everywhere in the lower minors to someone who hits a lot of line drives from gap to gap. Sox have a lot of IF depth options with Holt, Nunez, and Lin.
  7. The only thing that really sucks about Yankee stadium is the empty movie theater seats that make up the front few rows. The All Rise stuff is hokey AF too.
  8. @alexspeier Pedroia will play 3 innings on Saturday. All the rotation members remain scheduled to pitch in games starting Saturday: Rodriguez (Sat), Porcello (Sun), Sale (minor league game Mon), Price (Tues), Eovaldi (Wed).
  9. @alexspeier Cora says he doesn’t have a pecking order for the three catchers. ‘They’re all good,’ he said. Still expects that the team will open the year with just two catchers.
  10. I'm waiting with bated breath for his response. Wonder what Jimmy No Name from Sheboygan has to report on some article with "sources".
  11. He debuted at 20. Instead of getting seasoning in the lower minors, Feltman pitched in college. I don't think Feltman will be in Boston in April, but I wouldn't be shocked by a mid to late season call up.
  12. Cordero is Exhibit A for why holding a player in the minors just for seasoning is wasting bullets. He was really good until his arm fell off. Feltman seems to have a limited time table too. Maybe the Cubs should have kept Mark Prior in the minors longer for seasoning? That way he could have blown out his arm with much less service time!
  13. Because it didn't work once, it can never work. Interesting that you aren't mentioning young arms that succeeded like Francisco Rodriguez, Huston Street, Aroldis Chapman, or Kenley Jensen.
  14. When? You got receipts for this assertion?
  15. MLBPA signed a s***** deal. They need to hold out as long as they can. I won't hold my breath though.
  16. I think it says a lot about his character.
  17. I don't think they are looking at a committee. They are just picking between Barnes and Braiser. It worked in 2013.
  18. 2 seasons at TCU.
  19. Yeah, they have 21 days to make a decision... That was my point. What's the rush?
  20. It was a joke. Next time I'll be sure to hit everyone over the head with a hammer of sarcasm. I thought the sarcasm was clear... Alas! People were complaining about a potential trade JBJ thread post a few days ago. I was just referencing that.
  21. @alexspeier Pedroia said he ‘rolled around in bed’ last night thinking about game, but feels good after it: ‘When you come back from something like this, no one thinks you can do it. You kind of have to be confident.’
  22. Does he even throw a cutter? The pitch type information on fangraphs seems like it could be kind of wonky. Maybe it's listing 4 seamers as cutters? It seems unlikely that he'd drop 20% on his 4 seamer. Honestly, I don't watch enough Yankees games to know.
  23. What's the hurry on updating the 40 man? It's still only 3/7.
  24. I don't have enough tin foil on me today to worry about this further. I think Gray is just making up excuses. The cutter is 10 mph faster than his slider per fangraphs. Also, based on fangraphs pitch value, his best pitch was.... his slider.
