  1. https://newrepublic.com/article/155863/houston-astros-cheaters-2017-world-series-mckinsey-problem Interesting read IMO.
  2. IMO, he's up in BOS before AS Break. He has a 50/50 chance to be there on opening day right now.
  3. Well, his great D did take a dip last year and his BsR did too. I think saying "he's league average" doesn't portray his actual bat value when his OPS isn't in the top 30 for CFers with above 200 PA's.
  4. Interesting!
  5. Just like the Braves did, I think the Dodgers will break through and win it in the next few years. They have such a strong system that it'd be dumb for them to start chasing wins. It's been a while, but 1988 is still modern baseball. It's not like they are trying to reverse a curse or anything. Plus, LA is a different market. If they never win another WS, I don't think it changes the fanbase much.
  6. If you want to save cash, I don't think you try bringing back $60M of Wil Myers dead money. Pass. At that point, I'd rather just keep Price.
  7. I haven't spent enough time perusing the FA market at this point to comment if it's better to grab a fill in for CF or a bopper to put in LF/DH.
  8. You're downplaying the legacy of the Bills.
  9. That's a good one.
  10. I don't see Marcus Wilson having a shot to make this roster. Travis is a post prospect nobody. Neither of those two will be in Boston on opening day.
  11. I can't see a path to them doing the Nick Punto trade again. Dodgers ownership was really desperate and inexperienced at the time. Not sure a similar situation exists in MLB right now.
  12. If they keep JBJ, they'd be strong up the middle with Vaz/Sanchez/JBJ. Maybe they could then go weaker at other positions (JD instead of Mookie in RF, whoever at 1b)? The Rays always picked up a retread or two. We'll see if Bloom follows that formula.
  13. The way to keep both is just to not reset. Ownership can afford it. Whether or not they should is another question.
  14. They should just blow him away with a top of the market offer and be done with it. If he doesn't accept, move on. If they keep Betts all year, they get like a 4th rounder as compensation I think. If they trade him midseason, you'll get a far smaller return. To me, trading him at midseason is a bigg gamble. What if he gets hurt in May? What if you are still in contention in August? If the Sox stink from day 1, are they going to trade him early and drive fans away in June? Far too many variables for my liking.
  15. Long winded way of not answering the question, I guess.
  16. I've mentioned previously that Yolmer was a good option. He's cheap and really strong defensively.
  17. I think JD will be harder to move so I'm betting that Betts will be the one to go.
  18. 7 outs is the grand canyon.
  19. Also, LF isn’t known for defensive prowess so I don’t think a LF GG is a big enough deal to move someone to CF. If his arm wasn’t garbage, he’d be in RF. His sprint speed tanked last year too.
  20. 1. No 2. Palmeiro
  21. Beni is trash in CF.
  22. 10’s get downgraded because of
  23. Being one out away in 86 is light years ahead of anything since 1918. That team was great and should be cherished.
  24. How were they in October during the 90’s?
  25. Dwight Evans and Jim Rice hater. ^^^^
