Son of Jay Bell taken in 7th. http://news.soxprospects.com/2019/06/red-sox-select-brock-bell-with-seventh.html Throws hard. Just transitioned to P full time after having TJS.
Will Danton taken in the 8th. http://news.soxprospects.com/2019/06/red-sox-select-wil-dalton-with-their.html Had a great Sophmore season and absolutely feasted on SEC pitching, but fell last year. He changed is batting stance and it didn't work. Maybe Sox can fix him.
Cody Scroggins selected in the 9th. http://news.soxprospects.com/2019/06/red-sox-select-cody-scroggins-with.html Often injured and had elbow soreness in April. Has already had TJS.
Stephen Scott selected in the 10th. http://news.soxprospects.com/2019/06/red-sox-select-stephen-scott-with-their.html Can play almost every position on the field (1b, 2b, OF, C). Finished college career with two straight seasons with OPS above 1.000 at Vandy.
@IanCundall
Through ten rounds, the #RedSox have taken nine junior college/college players and one high school player. They’ve taken five hitters & five pitchers (four RHP and one LHP). This somewhat mirrors what they did last year when they took two HS players followed by eight college guys
Like last year, the Red Sox didn’t draft a HS pitcher in the first 10 rounds. Prior to these two drafts, they had taken at least one HS arm in the first 10 rounds every year since 2004. Last year they took their first in the 29th rd; interested to see when/if it happens tomorrow.
