  1. The big question is “what does ownership want”? To me, it seems they are more concerned with saving on payroll than winning.
  2. I understand. Everyone is allowed to feel how they feel. I’m trying to not get too down about it until the games actually start.
  3. My point is that people are quick to remember 2019 failures, but even quicker to forget 2018 successes. Will they all evert to 2018 form? Probably not, but I won’t rule it out.
  4. Is this the new “strawman” refrain? Bad content IMO. Also, it wasn’t a non sequitur anyway.
  5. They won 108 games in 2018 with a very similar roster.
  6. Big assumption there
  7. 1. Mookie for one year plus 4th round pick. 2. Resetting the lux tax, Verdugo with potentially career shortening back issues, Gonsolin and someone else. IDK, but option 2 sounds pretty good.
  8. ^^^ guy who complained wikipedia was a bad link.
  9. Let the cat out Schrodinger’s Box.
  10. What makes you think it is?
  11. Ah, the old crack medical staff gimmick! Still funny after all these years!
  12. Nah, they just feel sorry for John Henry’s bank account.
  13. Just go with the other preferable options regardless of draft pick issues.
  14. I’d have the trade contingent on a medical evaluation and trust my medical staff.
  15. Do the Dodgers even have a pick they can trade? I believe SD only has one.
  16. Because not every back injury derails a career. If they really want to move Betts, a Dodgers package with Verdugo is still better than the Padres one.
  17. Yes, he’s much more likely to retire than ever play in a different uniform.
  18. We know he has a back issue. Kennedy said it’s congenital. This doesn’t back up Kennedy’s claim at all.
  19. Nobody wants JBJ
  20. Fix farm. Retain mlb talent for next 5 years.
  21. Yup. I’ll still hold out hope against hope.
  22. I’m in until he sign elsewhere next offseason.
  23. If the years aren’t the problem then they should just front load the contract.
  24. The 2010 farm wasn’t good.
  25. Gronk was drafted with tons of back concerns. He ended up having a fairly productive career. At some point, they just have to move on from Betts.
