    Teams platoon now. There is no such thing as a b team. It's just not a thing, especially for the Red Sox.

    The toughest Yankee lineup in 25 years? Nah. 2003-07 and 2009 were better. Their 2019 lineup may even be better.

    Of course, CHB is talking about 1978 in his article today. This dude ran out of ideas once the Sox won in '04. If the Sox win, does that mean it erases a game that happened 47 years ago? Probably not, because where would the next column come from?

    I think he's worse in the IF! He's a jack of all trades kind of guy. It's whatever. Really the 26th man on the roster and has been a net benefit. I'm sure he's one of those offseason MiLB signings that brought hundreds of online posts that said "cue the duckboats!"

    Hamilton, maybe? If Romy was a better FB hitter, I'd go with him, but he's not that guy.

    He makes some seriously weird plays in the OF and isn't a fundamental guy. I'm not a fan.

    The majority of the team is now "role players." The true starters are Bregman, Story, Rafaela, Duran. That's it.

    Schlittler is all FB/Cutter and everything else kinda stinks. Strikes out a lot of guys, but will put a lot of guys on too. The worst starts he's had is when teams have worked walks against him. He's pitched worse at home and worse vs LHB.

    I think the bats could always erupt for a game or two, but don't think they'd carry them for a few weeks against upper echelon pitching.

    NYY's pitcher relies on a 4 seamer. Not sure Story will be all that helpful. Seems like a Breggie game to me. Rafaela, Lowe, Abreu and maybe Duran could get some big hits too.

    Even if they win, this playoff run is bleak as hell with Giolito out and bad Bello showing up.

    It's the same IP as the previous few seasons, but he just stopped being able to get LHB's out and walked too many guys.

    Romy, Eaton, Duran, Refsnyder, Yoshida Bregman and Story's glove are on a downward trajectory as well. Rafaela, Hamilton and Narvaez are their only plus defenders IMO (yes, I know what the metrics say about Duran).

    Eaton has a 1100 OPS after his first two games. Not sure how the other guys would be much better than that.

    Bello hasn't been a good pitcher for a while now and the two items above. That's what Game 2 was.

    You don't learn fundamentals at the MLB level. If Duran isn't a good fielder by now, he never will be. It's a personnel problem, not a managerial problem.
