    Maybe, but I'm not just going to plug him in and feel comfortable enough with the lineup to not make further moves.

    Which bullpen? The Red Sox? The Brewers? The Dodgers? All across the playoffs, many elite starters were pulled early in these playoffs and the bullpen did just fine. It's just that the '26 Red Sox bullpen with an injured Guerrero and a beleaguered Miller could not. If it was the July/August bullpen, the Sox may have had a better chance with that strategy.

    You can just look at the swing profiles and see that Sato has power that could translate to MLB where Masa has more of a slap hitter swing.

    When Masa was signed, most evaluators were very bearish on him and did not like the contract he was given. I haven't heard many people being down on Sato in a similar manner.

    I don't feel super comfortable about Crochet's long term health either. I've already said the variance about him for next season is somewhere between season ending surgery in ST and CY.

    Oviedo could end up being serviceable in the pen. Crawford hasn't thrown a meaningful pitch in how long???

    I wouldn't mind if they spent towards the pen TBH. Slaten is permanently on the IL. I don't think Guerrero can be counted on for sure. Chapman is out of here soon. There isn't much MiLB reliever depth.

    Putting Oviedo and Crawford in the mix among the slew of "quality and promising" players is a nasty bit of business.

    Until they get rid of the 18M already paid to play DH, they are probably not going to get another FA DH. They should though!

    The Sox don't teach situational hitting in the minors. How are they going to transition to that in one offseason?

    Almost everyone on here is. All I've been saying is that offense is missing two bats at the top of the lineup. Moon is asking for more bats. I think most of us are saying the same things TBH.

    If you are using your 6th starter in a playoff game, you may not be reaching the WS anyway. All the Sox WS winners had solid rotation health or supplemented at the deadline (Peavy, Eovaldi) and weren't relying on 6th-7th starters in the playoffs.

    The argument was made that Bello wouldn't be good enough on a playoff roster as a 5th man. It's clear if you look "at other rosters" that he would be.

    Then it's just complaining to complain. The Sox will never have a team full of All Stars.

    It's clear that people really have no idea what other rosters look like. Oh, the Brewers and Rays couldn't win if they had Bello at 5. They might not like his salary, but they'd take Bello the pitcher at 5.

    It affects how good the depth the Sox is, because you are comparing it to other orgs. You can't just say "well, the depth stinks because I think it does."

    Bello at 5 is more than good enough for a playoff team. It's better than what the Brewers have.

    Sato has had one game at 2b. It's a ridiculous idea to sign him to play 2b.
