  1. @JeffPassan Major League Baseball plans to start on time. Camps scheduled to open Feb. 17. Opening Day scheduled for April 1.
  2. Walker was a better all around player and was solid before going to the Rockies. However, he had a 141 OPS+ at Coors Field. At the 10 other parks he played 50+ games at, only 1 had a 100+ OPS+.
  3. Tell me about it.
  4. So good.
  5. I think he'd be more likely to take a fulltime job as a coach rather than being in the booth. He's a guy who likes the comradery of a team. Harder to get that feeling in the booth. However, he said that he wants to be at home with his kids, so there's a good chance he picks up a different hobby in the next decade to keep him going.
  6. Todd Helton: 999 Home 833 Away
  7. "Gotta collect 'em all." Also, Chavis is NOT a 2B. He's a 1B/LF.
  8. He's just a placeholder IMO. At some point, either Downs or Durran is given a shot late summer.
  9. I bet he just does a series or two here or there. I don't think he'll do it as a fulltime gig.
  10. I do have to say though that Dee Strange-Gordon's versatility could really help between OF and 2b.
  11. Because my brain is broken, I dreamt last night that only Schoop and some AAA scrub were left available and the Sox were still dragging their feet.
  12. Is the humidor not working? If they remade CF as the old Polo Grounds, it'd be cool. However, pushing the fences back will just force the OFers to cover more ground. It may decrease HR's, but could substantially increase 2B's and 3B's.
  13. Wait until his in the booth with Remy.
  14. @BNightengale Dustin Pedroia says he has no regrets, and is at peace, holding no grudge towards Manny Machado over the slide in 2017 that basically ended his career. "We made it back. I played 9 games when 90% of the doctors said there's zero chance. ...It's ok.''
  15. I didn't know that Dustin was called up the day following the Boston Massacre in 2006.
  16. Press conferences where every interviewer has to ask "can you hear me ok?" are just great.
  17. @joonlee Pedroia said he was planning to play as recently as last January, when he found out he needed to get a partial knee replacement The pandemic delayed the procedure until December, and Pedroia can no longer run, says playing with his kids was a "grind" before the surgery
  18. From Press Conf: Pedroia said that since his last surgery (partial knee replacement) that he can finally live comfortably again. He was told that nobody had ever come back after this surgery. He can't run, but can walk just fine. He said "why do I need to run."
  19. If they traded him, they would have had enough $$$ to keep Mookie.
  20. Richards and Perez aren't official yet, are they?
  21. Devers is also 2 inches taller. His legs seem much thicker than Pablo, who carried a lot of his weight in his midsection.
  22. Worrying about the bottom of the 40 man roster is a waste. It's more important to worry about the bottom of your 25 man roster.
  23. The MLBPA turned down the DH rule because it was linked to increase playoff games where the players don't get enough of the pie.
  24. I wasn't looking to get the trade to work out. I was trying to show a deal that was tilted in BOS favor.
  25. Yup, Pedroia/Barnes/ERod/Ottavino come off the books this year. JD, Eovaldi, VAZ and Beni are gone the next.
