    Because if Devers got his throwing issues fixed, he'd be better than Dalbec. Maybe easier to fix that than shuffle the lineup all around.

    He struggled last year because his swing was a mess and he couldn't watch video during the games to prep. It had nothing to do with the batting order.

    If Dalbec was a vastly better defender, they would have kept him at 3b. The truth is, Dalbec is just an average defender at best. You're not going to move Devers off position for that defensive profile.

    It's always been his throwing, not his range. Maybe it's a mental block? Maybe it's him not setting his feet?

    I don't think Chaim sees Devers' defense as keeping us from the playoffs. We're on the outside looking in right now. I think Chaim's plan is to watch Devers this year and move him to DH/1B next offseason if there isn't improvement. This team is NOT a WS contender. Moving a "butcher" off the position doesn't fix the larger issues with this roster.

    IDK, but if I had to draft upside in Trey Ball over Dominic Smith (backup 1b), I probably pick Ball again.

    @PeteAbe Reading between the lines a bit, Opening Day sounds like a reach for Brasier and Cordero. Sox seemed short in the outfield already. Yairo Munoz could factor into the mix after being dropped from the 40-man after last season.

    The issue with Cordero is that MLB hasn't cleared him so he can't join the team. He's working out by himself for now.

    @PeteAbe Darwinzon Hernandez will get in a sim game tomorrow, Ottavino is scheduled for Wednesday. Bogaerts is taking BP on the field tomorrow. Cordero is still not cleared,. Santana is on the field but still going through his throwing program after elbow surgery.
