  1. Cordero had a .502 OPS in MLB. He's not OPSing 1.248 in AAA. .758 in AAA is NOT better than what Dalbec is currently doing.
  2. Also, reinstate the banned elbow pad that Barry Bonds used to use.
  3. Bring back the 15" mound and the ball from 2020.
  4. IDK, I think having Ronaldo Hernandez would not prohibit me from grabbing a C #1.
  5. 758 in AAA. That's not better than what Dalbec is doing right now. Chavis hitting .650 is not a plus. Dalbec has the higher ceiling. Either roll with Dalbec or find a vet to bring in.
  6. Yup. Should have signed him in the offseason.
  7. I say juice the baseball and juice the pitchers.
  8. He'll have a .330 OBP in no time!
  9. It's a reason that you can't always rely on FA to build your ballclub. Need to draft and develop players too.
  10. Chavis only has a 758 OPS in AAA. What do we expect him to do differently here? The last time he was up he had a 39.4 k% and a 0.0000 bb%. Sox may do better finding some veteran retread to bring in.
  11. 97 was Clemens' first year with TOR. He was definitely not with BOS in 05 either.
  12. Aside from the Mata/Ward injuries, this has been a very good year for Sox prospects. In a perfect world, Downs would start to heat up too. Hard to complain though.
  13. His current trajectory is less than 1.5 WAR, but ok. He can be an everyday player in MLB, I'd just rather BOS not have to use him as an everyday player.
  14. I'm just not a big fan of giving a guy with 6.12 bb/9 high leverage innings. The walk rate is bottom 5th % of the league. What I saw last night wasn't pretty. I must apparently miss some of his dominant performances because he always looks a little shaky to me. That's probably in part to him having a really low whiff rate. He does a great job of limiting hard contact. Maybe as I get used to him pitching, I can be more comfortable with how he attacks hitters. It's just a little different.
  15. Well deserved.
  16. Update from last night: Ort still dealing (k'd the side) Bello is absolutely shoving (5.1, 9k, 0bb, 1r) Cam Cannon still showing offensive life (4 hits) Tyreque Reed is getting bored in Greenville (3 for 6) Granberg continues to his hot streak (3 for 4) Joe Davis has eclipesed the 1.000 OPS mark (3 for 5, 2 HR)
  17. What was the punishment for the Sox aside from the banishing of their video guy? Remember, Cora was only punished for his role in the Astros nonsense.
  18. His price tag is fine, he should just not be an everyday player.
  19. Not to be too political but... I think all the content on here could be a little better. There's days I just phone it in too (very rarely though).
  20. I think it's been a mild improvement on what I expected. The big surprise to me isn't the pen, but how the starting rotation has been. I anticipated an injury for Eovaldi, ineffectiveness for Pivetta, an ok season for ERod, mediocrity from Perez and no idea what to think about Richards. The only let down has been ERod.
  21. Taylor was just really awful for his first few appearances from what I remember. Ottavino is a little more white knuckle than I'd like for my 8th inning guy. Sawamura has been fine. DHern still walks way too many guys to ever be a high leverage reliever.
  22. Pining for medicore Chavis is a weird look IMO. People were using phrases like "sparkplug" and "he hustles." He's the 2021 dirt dog guy I guess???
