and I discussed on the podcast episode dropping today, Wong was a better option that Herrmann because he's on the 40-man roster.
Wong missed 3 weeks with a hamstring injury, but that included time on the MLB taxi squad. Clearly comfortable w/ what they saw then.
It's interesting that it wasn't until very recently that Vaz caught his 500th game for the Red Sox. Tony Pena reached that amount in just 4 years with the Sox. Vaz first debuted in 2014.
The problem that I have with it is that it's nearly impossible to compare Duran 2021 to Duran 2018/19. They have completely different swings. Prior to 2021, Duran had 8 professional HR's in 880 PA's. This year he has 12 Hr's in only 145 PA's.
