  1. Two more series against that dumpster fire. The one thing that the Sox have in their back pocket is their final 6 games of the year: @BAL @BAL @BAL @NATS @NATS @NATS
  2. @NBCSEdgeBB Renfroe in CF, JDM in RF for 1st gm of DH vs. NYY
  3. @alexspeier Josh Taylor ‘feels good,’ and Sox are hopeful of having him for both games, per Alex Cora Some good news.
  4. He can't have it. Never gonna get it. Never gonna get it.
  5. If they are going to limit him to ONLY facing LHP, I agree.
  6. @alexspeier Cora on how he hopes Houck improves moving forward: ‘If he improves, he’s on the Cy Young Award ballot’ I guess? He needs that third pitch. Whitlock got one from Andriese this offseason, Houck should go hang out with him.
  7. From today: @ChrisCotillo Red Sox injury updates: * Christian Arroyo starts rehab assignment as WooSox DH tonight * Ryan Brasier will throw on back-to-back days (Wed, Thu) for Worcester * Matt Andriese scheduled for 2 innings tonight for WooSox * Danny Santana could start rehab this week
  8. @alexspeier Cora on Shaw: ‘It gives us a veteran at-bat off the bench…It’s a more experienced at-bat than Franchy.’ Sox also like the way Shaw controls the strike zone. ‘It makes us a more complete unit.’
  9. @alexspeier Cora says Sox will still have Schwarber play the field. Team hopes to have him play OF this weekend and will continue to have him get work in preparation for 1B.
  10. I think we may as well keep Downs in AAA as long as we can afford to, even if that means wasting a 40 man spot on him.
  11. 2 for 5, 1 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, 1 K Seem like a good game in a do or die situation. Maybe we'd have to go back and check is barrel rate?
  12. Bloom's former team doesn't put a high priority on the bat of Catcher. My guess is that he may be fine with Wong being the backup next season.
  13. Well, I don't think he can keep that 800 pace up.
  14. He's had no extra base hits since coming back from AAA. We need more right now.
  15. These are the Travis Shaw things I'm expecting, but I guess you never know?
  16. I got one of the starters right: Houck vs Montgomery
  17. I’m dubious that he can keep it up since he doesn’t have a great walk rate. High K/Low BB is not a great combo.
  18. June 780 July 550 Aug 1218 We can't pretend he's been good since the start of June. In this SSS, the current hot streak is masking his bad July. Does an amazingly hot 2 week stretch make up for a dismal July?
  19. Devers
  20. 1343 OPS TBR/TOR stretch 1750 OPS BAL 1153 OPS since TBR series on 7/30. Maybe the fruit basket should go to Tampa?
  21. @IanCundall The Red Sox top international FA signing from the 2021 class, OF Miguel Bleis, is off to a great start in the DSL. Through 10 games, he’s 9 for 23 w/3 2B, 1 HR, 3 SB & 2 BB:2 K. Triple slash: 391/.462/.652. Scout feedback I’m getting has been very positive: “He’s the real deal.” I guess I no longer have to consider Lavarnway the Real Deal. We have a new contender.
  22. Hell yeah. Anything that has chocolate and peanut butter for me.
  23. And with him, his Sept/Oct numbers are in line with the rest of his career, so it's not like he is wearing down at the end of the season. HIS OPSa in high leverage situations is pretty good too.
  24. First Monday promotion: @salemredsox After posting a team low 1.50 ERA through 17 appearances, Ryan Fernandez gets the long awaited call to Greenville!
  25. That team has Means, Mullins, Mountcastle, Mancini and MiLB players.
