  1. He's holding out hope against hope since he's been railing against Bogey for years because he's a "below average" SS and gets annoyed whenever someone says he's slightly above average. Above Average Xander Bogaerts
  2. Based on I disagree.
  3. And it left a rancid taste in a lot of mouths.
  4. Disagree.
  5. The signs were that Sale would have missed the season long before March. They also dealt Price off and didn't re-sign Porcello. The only guy they brought in was Perez. Perez wasn't going to take the place of Sale, Price AND Porcello. They were already under water long before ERod went down. They CHOSE not to sign any starting pitchers and went for a gumbo of Eovaldi, Perez, Weber, an opener and then Covey/Hall/Springs three headed monster as the 5th starter. https://www.mlb.com/news/red-sox-2020-season-opening-day-roster-projection The reinforcements they were waiting on were Brian Johnson and Zack Godley. They lost so many games because they didn't field a competitive starting rotation. Even if ERod was healthy last year, that rotation was garbage and embarrassing.
  6. But they have gone over whether "significantly" or not. They would like to stay under, but they have the ability to go over.
  7. There is an ignore feature.
  8. The weight comment is pretty insane. I guess this references Pablo Sandoval? Well, this is what Sandoval looked like when he was 24: https://www.amazon.com/Pablo-Sandoval-2012-Topps-Finest/dp/B00WVUHFL4 Devers looks much more put together than that. Seems like if he's losing weight every offseason that he is controlling his weight?
  9. They just have to put this one game aside and get back to it.
  10. I could see the Rays win the WS. Hard to see the Sox winning 3 straight series considering the rollercoaster this season has been. This doesn't mean that I don't think the Sox can beat the Rays. If they win won tonight, effectively splitting the Rays' homestand, Sox will be in a great position.
  11. He's one of those guys who still thinks it was better being a fan prior to 2004.
  12. This isn't true because the Sox don't have to stay under the salary cap. Ownership can go over whenever they want to.
  13. I wouldn't say incredible, but I'd say he definitely found some great value. Hard to complain when Yorke, Blaze, Mayer and Whitlock all appear to be great pipeline additions. I don't think the 2020 Sox were as bad as their record showed. Simple additions to the starting rotation really turned the record around. Overlooking thoughts on trading Betts, I don't see how anyone could grade him less than a B+.
  14. Hernández CF, Schwarber DH, Bogaerts SS, Devers 3B, Renfroe RF, Verdugo LF, Dalbec 1B, Vázquez C, Arroyo 2B
  15. Rays had more CS than the Sox had SB.
  16. Rays were last in GIDP. Time for some regression!
  17. Yes, a catwalk. They'll hit all the balls up to the catwalk.
  18. If the Sox didn't throw Marwin out there, they'd be about 112 too.
  19. Yankees have more flags than the Sox. I guess they should have won? Only the dumb man would have bet on the Sox.
  20. What a lie. There's virtually no AC in Boston.
  21. 18 would have been a better comparison if they had done the right thing and signed Porcello in the offseason.
  22. Uh, I don't think this Sox team has ANY connection to 04 and 07. From 13, only Xander remains. Still hard to even compare 18 and 21.
  23. Lowe 137 WRC+, 4.9 BSR Arozarena 128 WRC+, 1.5 BSR Fangraphs doesn't like that Arozarena is thrown out every third SB attempt.
