  1. His high leverage numbers are similar to his low leverage numbers.
  2. The position is pitching. They all have significant experience at it.
  3. I think he could be interesting down the stretch. Not a high k guy though I don't think.
  4. Actually, I think he has the perfect profile. Wild hair. Propensity for facial hair. Throws hard. Lots of spin on his offspeed stuff. Has no trouble speaking out.
  5. One of us! One of us!
  6. As much of a factor as it is for Chris Bassitt, Walker Buehler, Mike Clevinger, Jacob DeGrom, Johnny Cueto, Danny Duffy, Nate Eovaldi, Tyler Glasnow, Gunner Hoglund, Michael Kopech, Dinelson Lamet, Joey Lucchesi, Lance Lynn, Steven Matz, Dustin May, Lance McCullers, Jordan Montgomery, Shohei Ohtani, Chris Paddack, Chris Sale, Ross Stripling, Noah Syndergaard, Jameson Taillon, Spencer Turnbull, Taijuan Walker, et al.
  7. Does it matter which seat I sit in when I watch the games?
  8. He fell because of signability concerns and questionable makeup (because of his idiot father). I don't believe durability was part of that.
  9. It was the same injury that he had surgery for. Sox should have had him get TJS in 2017. He would have had a full season in 2019.
  10. Forearm soreness in 2017. TJS in May 2018. Came back ready at the end of 2019 pitching decent. 2020 no season. 2021, has been healthy so far. It was one injury.
  11. He's no Marwin Gonzalez.
  12. The problem with their current starting rotation is that you have two guys that you need to baby: Sale (coming off injury) and Houck (struggles turning the lineup over). If the pen isn't solid, it's tough to squeak through those starts unless the bats are really mashing. An injury to ERod or Eovaldi would certainly sink the season.
  13. If the pen wakes up and starts pitching like they were in the first half, they could make a good run.
  14. Get him at a deep discount this offseason!
  15. He'll be in AA next year.
  16. Groome has also dealt with so many injuries, that him just staying healthy and being relatively successful is a major win.
  17. Can you be a fast runner and not quick? Yes. They are two different things. He can get to a faster speed than some other batters, but it takes him longer to do so. For example: Devers gets to 20' in 1.33 seconds. HP to first is 4.34. Dalbec gets to 20' in 1.38 seconds. HP to first is 4.47. Dalbec can run faster at his top speed, but it takes him longer to get there. Wonder why? Maybe he's less twitchy? Maybe he's less athletic?
  18. I rely on what the trained scouts say. I'm sure your eyes tell you something else.
  19. Until he can get past the 18th batter, he's not someone I want to keep in the rotation. His ceiling in the pen as a lights out closer. I'm fine with him going there.
  20. He was a bad one then. Should have been good until October and then tried to sink the season.
